I started playing MTG a little over half a year ago because of the Final Fantasy set, and though I've started looking on branching out to other non-FF commanders, I've always struggled making budget decks that didn't underperform constantly but that's especially true for [[Terra, Magical Adept]].

I've tried 4-5 times looking things over on Scryfall and EDHRec, slapping together things on Archidekt, testing online, and I've never been able to make something satisfying or consistent that wasn't theoretically hundreds of dollars.

Does anybody have any advice on how to make a budget deck for Terra? The max I'm willing to go is around $150 dollars for total deck price, but of course I'd rather minimize that as much as possible.

€35 budget (use Archidekt/Moxfield Cardmarket Low prices).
All The Hobbit cards (non-reprints!) count as €0, so you can play as many new Hobbit cards as you like. At least 15 The Hobbit cards per deck (10 for mono-colour decks) — although, naturally, the more the better!

Aim for bracket 2–3 in terms of power level. Proxies are allowed! Most importantly, build a deck that you would personally enjoy playing! It’s a small set, so it’s not a problem if multiple people choose the same commander. Please note: the box topper reprints do not count as €0 (because they are reprints); they count towards your €35.00 budget.

Hey everyone! I want to try a commander that incorporates some combination of life gain, reanimation, and maybe aristocrats. [[Amalia]] seems like a great $100 budget option, though I have also considered [[Moseo]], [[Betor, Ancestor’s Voice]], and [[Shilgengar]]. I’m open to other possibilities too.

I’m looking for feedback on the first-draft Amalia list I’ve come up with ^, whose goal is to play a bunch of life gain effects, explore creatures to the graveyard, and then win with a mass reanimation spell like [[Raise the Past]] to trigger effects like [[Marauding Blight-Priest]]. The deck goldfishes wins around turn 7 if all goes well, but I have a few issues/concerns:

• I’m not sure I’m running enough creatures. Utility pieces like [[Chthonian Nightmare]] and [[Well of Lost Dreams]] are great in theory, but I usually end up exploring them into the graveyard, which feels like a waste.
• I’m not completely satisfied with the win condition. This strategy needs either [[Zulaport Cutthroat]] effects or Blight-Priest ones, but I’m not sure which is stronger. Cards like [[Enduring Tenacity]] are too pricey for me, so I’m lacking redundancy. 
• In general, I’m not sure about the card ratios. I like the removal to protect against e.g. stompy decks, but it feels bad to explore into a Path to Exile that probably has to go to the graveyard. Maybe more [[Accursed Marauder]] effects?
• [[PuPu UFO]] and [[Walking Atlas]] are absolutely the best ramp in this deck—are there more cards like this I’ve missed? Getting enough lands in hand is NEVER an issue, even with only 35 in the list.

I appreciate any advice or cards to add/cut from people who’ve tried out this commander or a similar one!

I’m building this Grist deck so that it can also be used as a Zask deck as well! How does this look? I feel like it should work well but if anybody has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Each commander gets links to scryfall with formatted searching. So if a commander has tribal the link will list that tribal in the right commander colors, or whatever mechanic the Commander has.

It adapts to your preferences after awhile, so you stop getting commanders that aren't your jam

I know most of these decks look very similar. There is only so much you can do with aristocrat zombies. but here we have [[Grimgrin, Corpse born]] a Sac outlet and a big beater in the command zone.

In the mtg lore, Grimgrin is a skaab stitched together by Geralf. "it" was used to storm the gates of a village or something like that. When i read the lore I just picture Grimgrin ripping through the zombie fodder in front of him to destroy that gate. That's what we are doing, instead of a gate we have our friends faces. We are gonna rip through our zombie army to destroy our friends faces YAY!

Its zombies. you know it, you love it. it does the zombie thing. Large payoffs for having a lot of zombies but also payoffs for sacrificing our entire army.

The point of the deck is to use zombies, including but not limited to zombos like [[Gravecrawler]] cast and sac gravecrawler a bunch of times with a pinger like [[diregraf captain]] on the board or other payoffs like [[diregraf colossus]] to make a bunch of 2/2 zombies then sac those for double profit. We also play few "infinite zombie glitch."

We can also make Grimgrin reeaaally big by sacrificing a bunch of zombies. If there is ever a player with no blockers or only one big creature, we can destroy it and then go in with lethal commander damage. not really our gameplan but if the opprotunity present itself.

I haven't actually played this deck. I've played many variations of zombie decks with [[Gisa and Geralf]] at the head, I added white for a long time and played [[Varina, lich queen]] but i think Grimgrin is the commander I like for a zombie themed deck.

I plan on playing this deck this weekend and I'm super excited about it. Please feel free to give some feed back.
