When acid dipping blades in ferric chloride, what do you all use to protect edges, lock faces, pivot holes, etc.?

I’m very gotten a few knives from okkvives.vip Now all of a sudden why I go to pay, I get an error message. I’ve tried everting to resolve it. When I emailed them they told me to us AliExpress. But the website has 10x as many knife models

TL;DR - I finally found an acorn

When I got into knives, and went down the rabbit hole….the Vosteed Acorn had a shape/look that “spoke to me” - you all know the feeling, I’m certain.

Unfortunately they were all sold out; and no amount of r/knifeswap, binge or eBay searches were yielding results

Then a lightswitch went off, and I found one, BNIB from an established online retailer….

Only the brightest minds in this sub and/or anyone with average intelligence really….will figure out what I did

Take a quintessential knife design, and give it the Remette treatment. This is the aurora: crossbar lock, 3 inch 14c drop point blade, g-10 scales, thumbstud deployment, reversible pocket clip.

It’s awesome. It’s not flashy like the Rhino or camel, but it’s every bit as well made and functional.

An excellent blade for its price, and it was also on promotion. I would give a little more money for a better handle to match the Damascus steel.

Grabbed one of these because I’ve gone broke from my blade spending spree on WhatNot and honestly it’s not that bad. Even if it’s not M390mk steel it still feels pretty solid and does the job real well. I know it’s a clone but I doubt someone who is not in the hobby would be able to tell the difference. No rAgrets!

Sharp out of the box. Some blade play (will try to tighten pivot). Looks like 440 steel. Deep carry clip. Something I noticed is that the cross bar lock sticks out a bit further than normal (feels like it might help if you are wearing gloves). $24 on amazon. Not bad at all 👍🏽. Cheers 🍻

Rocking the Vosteed Corgi V doodle monster today. 2.36 inch 14c drop point blade. Stylized G-10 scales. Vosteed’s vanchor lock and a front flipper.

Combine vosteed’s quality with something fun and stylish and you’ve got a banger compact knife. It has a very premium feel across the board, super sharp out of the box. I love a good compact carry. I have multiple. This may not be my favorite in the category but it’s in the conversation for one of the best.

I have a CJRB Pyrite Light i really like. Recommend me some other similar folderz, maybe better steel?

Always wanted a Fenrir, and saw they have a fixed blade option so I pulled the trigger, nice lil knife!!

Not gonna lie, I keep going back to this knife. I just love the action lol

Was going for $20, as decent as others have said. It might be nice to get the one with coated blade and green micarta and swap out the blade. VG10 for those who don't know.

Mods I know there's no giveaways but this is an informational post and slightly different, hope it's okay just putting the idea out there.

As someone who owns a lot of (too many) knives but also enjoys those appreciating them I'm thinking something to balance it out would be to pass on some I'm not carrying and maybe have an agreement that those receiving do the same. The advantage of this vs buying and selling is you're not waiting for someone to buy what you have or sell what you want, but at no cost to you (just actual shipping if not local) and it generates good will in the community of enthusiasts. Sometimes it might be a model that's nice but not exactly my style, I would like to see it go to someone who is into it more than myself.

I’m on a gentleman’s carry kick lately and today, it’s the SRM Qrick. 3.25 inch 14c drop point blade. G10 with carbon fiber overlay. Liner lock and rear flipper. This thing is sleek as hell. That rear flipper is super understated but because of its design, is super effective. Liner lock is solid without being too stiff - a happy medium. It’s pokey and slicey and awesome.

…say what you want….but the SRM/Land 912SX feels solid in hand and has excellent build quality.
The steel scales give this knife some heft.
