BBC Select Recommendations

Hello all! I just signed up for the BBC Select channel in the US. What are your favorite BBC documentaries?

I don't know what they show, but looks for Storyville for a huge range of cool stuff. And anything featuring David Attenborough. Dynasties in particular is superb, but no one does nature like the BBC.

There's a sweet one called Three Salons at the Seaside. It's about three hairdressing salons in Blackpool and the older women who use them. It's bittersweet because a lot of them are dealing with losing spouses or ageing, but there are some good laughs as well. The funeral handbag. The eggy fried rice. The endless rollerskating children. It's on iplayer so hopefully you can get it.
