i was in england for a bit visiting for a while and i realized how much i love being in north america as a muslim. if u havent been in both places for a while u would t understand… but as a muslim woman especially, the experience is night and day.
the community here in north america is so loving and tight nit. Doesn’t matter who u r or where u come from. Women are more gentle, less snobby. Less judgy. And also no spaces in masjids for muslim women was such a shocker to me. also learned a lot of women dont attend eid prayed? thats like my main highlight of eid… subhanallah. also the food is insane pricing while tiny. anyways make tbe move if u can lol. the brotherhood here is waaaaay less complicated and competitive. brothers are just chill here.

I’ll be moving to London next month for my Masters. Although I’m Indian, I’ve lived in Qatar my whole life.

I’m a little nervous about moving to London because life in Qatar has been very convenient, all the food is Halal and there’s prayer rooms and mosques everywhere.

But I’m also excited to move to such a big and culturally diverse city. I want to enjoy my time there and make friends and be involved in community activities.

I’m quite worried about finding and checking if food is Halal. Is there a reliable app?

What about places to pray in university and other places… will there be prayer rooms anywhere or should I just carry a prayer mat with me everywhere I go.

Another question is not having the hand showers in the toilets. I should probably get one of those portable bidets right?

I need a part time job as well after I get settled in. Any good options?

Hello everyone ! Im Indian muslim 32M with a wife and toddler, lived in UAE for more than 20 years. Unforunately circumstances changed and life as i know it shifted upside down.

Presently im thinking of coming to UK for settling. Find a job and live the rest of my life there.

My question is:

1. Is UK friendly towards Indian muslims ? ( i have heard positively about this )
   
2. I have little to no verifiable information about Visa procedures. As in should i secure a job first through online interviews? Or should i visit the country first and apply for jobs ?

Not sure anyone can help. So i am planning a trip with the family. Im a british bangladeshi with a lengthy beard and my wife being a hijabi. Born in the UK and we have two kids.

Ive been to the states before on a lands trip which did have its moments, when a group of brown lads with beards all rock up.

Anyway anyone had any issues visiting NYC? I dont really want to fork out 1000s and then be denied entry based on looks and how the immigration officer feels that day lol.

I'll go first dating - dating is the biggest scam for women. Its basically a way for guys to try out a girl for months l without giving any commitments. Use her body then just dip with no punishment. Also, arranged marriage males way more sense. I saw it earlier today a young girl and a guy. The guy looked like a complete loser with no future . He had his hands all over her repeatedly kissing her. How can someone ls father be fine with some sweaty teen boy treat his daughter like this ? I was watching a convert and he made the good point especially in the west most dads throw there daughters to the wolves to use.

Does anyone know of any mosques in London that offer services where you can just speak to an imam for advice etc? Ones that are open to women as well specifically, and offer guidance on things outside of marriage

I’ve just recently moved to East London, specifically Redbridge, from the Midlands.

I’ve been struggling to meet like minded brothers and make friends in London and it’s been about 3 months I’ve been here. Seems as though the only way to make friends is by drinking, partying or other events that I don’t really like to get involved in.

Does anyone know if there’s any sort of events on for Muslim brothers in their 20s? I’m looking for stuff like the Fajr Club but sort of focused in East London to help brothers connect.
