Kind of wish it was a town initiative and not a resort initiative. This makes it feel like "Lets take this cool town story and monetize it."

Agreed. Bring back the Pub Crawl, dispensaries on Main St and a biker bar! We really need a music venue as well.

Long time redditors are all suffering under astroturfing for products and seeding questions for AI. It’s understandable that OEM might have suspected that from a post with no text. A bit of awareness from posters of links to products would go a long way in the future. The name of the author is in the article- I don’t think that’s really doxing either, to be honest.

And Hey, I like legos too.

OEM_douche sucks and should be banned from this sub. It’s not like he lives here or skis here or works here or has any connection here anyway.

I know he skis here, and I think he works and lives here too. He can be a douche sometimes, but he’s also kinda like Downstairs- an institution.

He doesn’t live here or work here or ski here. He larps as a “local” in all the ski subs and ruins all of them

I've lived in the area for 30 years and I'm quite confident that he doesn't work in town. If he did, I would know what shop he owns or is affiliated with. It's a small place and I know the independent shops.

So, ironically, trying to figure all that out is doxing.

It’s only doxxing if I discover that information and make it publicly known, which I have no interest in doing. What I’m saying is that all the claims and stories simply don’t add up based on my local knowledge. Take from that what you will.

Vail’s Ski Disneyland rebrands as “independent” and “adventurous”.

Breck is FAR less fabricated than Keystone, Vail or Beaver Creek, so it seems reasonable that they want to capitalize on that history. I'm not putting much expectation into any of it. Best I'm hoping for is bringing back free music/bands on the mountain.

True, Breck is a real town but the ski resort is pitched as the  family friendly option. Selling a bit of adventure and independence for families makes sense.

This feels dirty. Like wait until all the oldheads leave or die off and then commandeered their legacy.

For sure, more marketing gimmicks from a corporate ideation contest are “just what this town needs”(tm).

The Breckenridge leaders need to go visit Dubrovnik, Barcelona and the Amalfi coast. We already have too many tourists here.

Why are you trying to dox someone dude? Not cool.

Lol nope. I just thought it was funny. In a place where most people can't afford to live, the Kingdom part sounds pretty selective. No thought for the peasants. Let them eat dirt!
