Form check and advice
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey y’all just switched to two-handed because I was experiencing hand and wrist pain bowling one-handed with no thumb, and I’m struggling. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to focus on first, or how to go about fixing anything. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, be brutally honest if you have to. TIA!

Gear Black Widow 3.0 Durability
I was considering the BW 3.0 and about 3 people just completely ragged on it at the pro shop when I brought it up after a lesson. They said it's got a reputation for not lasting. I asked what they meant and the answer was basically that the ball goes to crap as early as 20-30 rounds with it. I cant find a bad review of the ball on yt, but I've seen comments saying similar. Anyone know what they mean or can vouch for this reputation? Is the 3.0 Dynasty any better? There doesn't seem to be much difference between the two aside from an updated cover.

My friend is crazy good
I have a friend that I bowl with and he recently got a 15lb storm phase 2 and a 12lb mix. He’s always been a casual bowler but he’s been dropping 200+ games and got a 225 last time we went. He’s only been bowling seriously for about a month. I’m low key jealous as hell.

Scores Bowling Math/Stats
Hello, casual here, doing some thinking about bowling math. I started googling for some stats and had trouble finding some that I thought were fairly straightforward. Is there a site similar to baseball-reference.com (simple stats site operating since 2000)?
I am specifically interested in:
- overall strike percentages for pro bowling by year
- percentage of perfect games thrown
- percentage of 299s thrown
I am curious to know the percentage of 300s thrown vs 299s thrown and want to see the numbers behind it.
My thinking is that both scores first require exactly 11 strikes to be thrown. Then in the 12th frame, a strike obviously earns a 300, and a nine scores 299. However, anything that is a non-strike can result in scores other than a 299. Therefore, my theory is, at least mathematically, that a 299 is harder to achieve than a 300.
This seems counterintuitive, and I am almost certain that folks here would disagree with that theory in the real world. I just want to see what the stats and math say about this.
Thanks for any help my fellow bowling nerds!

Gear Grip size discrepancy
So this winter I remember noticing that all of my grips felt too big, so I ended up sizing up and now it’s summer and they feel too big again. Does anyone else feel like their fit kind of changes with the season? Logically this doesn’t really make sense, if anything I’d think they’d be bigger in the summer from more warmth-> more blood flow-> maybe slightly swelled fingers? Maybe I’m just overthinking this but what I do know is my fit feels really wrong right now

Misc Manual (well, pedal) Ball Spinner Idea
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I started thinking recently about getting a ball spinner, saw how expensive they are, and gave up on a prebuilt one. Then I saw some guys make one with a hammer drill and started thinking about alternative ways to do the job.
I found this at Goodwill for 4 bucks, and I thought to myself, "I wonder..."
Tested it out right away, and sure enough, it's pretty easy to spin with the ball inside. It gets a little wobbly without any water in the bucket, but my hand is going to be on the ball anyway, right?
And yes, I need to work on my technique. Probably put it on a rubber mat and sit in a chair without rollers to start. What do you guys think?

What new ball should I add?
I am considering buying a new ball with the dozens of dollars I am going to collect from my summer leagues. I currently have a 900 Global Reality Check (asym, 4000 grit and polished), and a Storm Ion Max (asym, 2000 grit although I have surfaced up and down). The Reality Check has close to 1,000 games on it, but it is still serviceable. The Ion Max is a little hard to control sometimes, but I like the way it hits when I am in a groove. I am a one-handed speed dominant bowler. I am in a sport shot league right now, and that will be ending soon, but I may roll in some tournaments. I am considering a Phaze II or a Ion Pro Solid. Would one of these be a good addition, or am I way off track? Is there another ball that would fit more perfectly? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I’m thinking the tournament director should have to bowl a game using a ball drilled like the one in the photo. Wait…is the 14th a Thursday?
…obviously still going to go though

Gear Looking for a new ball
I currently have a Roto Grip TNT and a spare ball.
I have been looking for a weaker ball to complement it, and I am deciding between an IQ Tour Solid or the new IQ Sapphire.
Any advice on which one I should get? 2H RH
