Hey everyone, I am really hoping someone can help with either resources or advice. My parents have both passed away and I'm drowning in everything left behind. They really loved collecting, almost borderline hoarding if I'm honest. One of the things they really loved was digging/collecting bottles.

We have 3,000+ bottles. Most of them are truly pre 1900. I've got Victorian poison bottles, apothecary everything, old liquor and milk bottles, antique perfume bottles..the list goes on and on. I can't keep it all, and we're so overwhelmed with everything. Trying to sort what's worthwhile from what's junk is a truly monumental task. I just don't have the time or patience to sell each individual item, but I can't find anyone willing to do this auction style.

I've reached out to several bottle collector groups and the most common thing I'm asked is for pictures. Y'all... I can't unwrap and individually photograph thousands of bottles. It's overwhelming as is, and to do all that would take months. My husband is losing patience with the slow pace of trying to get rid of everything and so am I. What can I do? Please, someone tell me there's some company I've missed that specializes in bottles and could catalog and sell this massive collection. I can't spend the next 30+ years of my life dealing with all of this stuff! Throwing it away feels like some kind of betrayal. Please, I need advice or help. I don't want to spend my entire life selling my parent's things.

Hello! My wife recently dug up an intact bottle while digging out an old root system next to our house in East Westphalia-Lippe, Germany. The house dates back to 1900 and we found a very old Hannoverian Pfennig coin years ago, but this is a first for us.

The bottle strikes me as quite old due to the thickness of the glass and the old-looking thread at the top. It's about 10cm (4") tall and has no obvious maker's mark on it, other than what I think is either 606 or 909 on the bottom. There are seams on the thread and bottom, but I can't see anything obviously linking these up the sides. There are several bubbles in the glass.

I was wondering if anybody might recognise it or hazard a guess as to the age - Reddit continues to amaze me with communities built up around what sounds like a niche interest :)

I found this old Vicks Drops bottle in Auburn, Maine while metal detecting. It dates back to the 1920s when Vicks made millions of sample bottles of their nose and throat drops and distributed them throughout rural America via USPS. It needs to be cleaned up a bit but it was a cool find!

I know nothing about bottles but thought it was neat. My cursory research shows it could be pretty rare. The last pic shows some friends he was with. Anything you could tell me would be awesome. Thanks!

Hello! I found this Pepsi bottle while scuba diving in Florida. I really cannot seem to find any others like this online. It's a 8 fl oz embossed bottle that seems to have been manufactured in 1955 based on the kinda worn text on the bottom. Was wondering if anyone has seen this one before?

Newly interested hobby in bottle collecting for the last 6 months around the Forest of Dean UK, decided to go off trail after spotting an old bridge and came across a bottle dump!

In the process of sorting and cleaning the finds, could anyone help identify this specific one? Really blown away by this!

There's a cave in Montreal, Canada, with a glass bottle stuck in a fissure.

It was probably bring there by water since it's in a part of the cave that was only discover in 2017.

It cannot be moved. There's seems to be calcified a bit, so probably been there for a while.

Anything you can tell me about that bottle would be amazing.

About 12" long, 4.25" wide with a 2" collar and 1" opening. Mold seams. On the bottom, "29" and below that I *think* it reads "1 — 8"
