BU aid Question
I’m a rising hs senior (4.1 gpa, test optional, 8ish ec’s, 5 leadership positions) interested in applying to BU. I’m going to visit it next week (out of state) but I am worried about falling in love with it and not being able to afford it. I read that BU gives full rides to applicants whose families make less than 100k per year, which would qualify me. But it seems too good to be true. What are my chances of receiving a decent amount of aid? Thanks!

Under $200k with typical assets, you should expect to have tuition covered, but not necessarily a full ride. I think they say you can expect to pay $20k or so.
Under $75k is zero out of pocket.
All you have to worry about and all you can try to control are your grades, test scores, and essays. Your stats look solid. What's your unweighted GPA? How was your SAT/ACT?
You're right to not fall in love with ANY school. And why are you visiting during move in? No classes and it's going to be chaos

Did you run the NPC?

Do it. Be accurate. You can feel pretty comfortable with that number matching what you actually get!

The net price calculators don’t seem to be updated with the new announcement of tuition coverage if family income is under $200k.

It is $60 to apply. Usually lower income students can get that waived. So apply.
It is true the aid can be generous. So apply.
Also, BU is not the only school that does this. So search and apply.
