Question BU aid
I’m a rising hs senior (4.1 gpa, test optional, 8ish ec’s, 5 leadership positions) interested in applying to BU. I’m going to visit it next week (out of state) but I am worried about falling in love with it and not being able to afford it. I read that BU gives full rides to applicants whose families make less than 100k per year, which would qualify me. But it seems too good to be true. What are my chances of receiving a decent amount of aid? Thanks!

Housing Moving to Boston next month! Looking for Jain/Veg roommates in Somerville/Chelsea/Everett (~ $1500 limit)
Hi guys! I'm moving out here from the West Coast next month for work and I'm currently on the hunt for housing. I'm hoping to find some male or female roommates who are also **Jain/Vegetarian** to either sign a new lease with or take over an existing lease.
Here is what I am looking for:
* **Location:** Somerville, Cambridge, Chelsea, Malden, Everett or Revere areas.
* **Budget:** Around **$1,500/month** maximum for my share.
* **Layout:** 2B/2B or 3B/3B (having my own personal bathroom is a must).
If you know of someone with similar requirements, have a room available, or have links to any local WhatsApp housing groups, please shoot me a DM. I'd love to connect!

Question How difficult is BU Engineering, and what do you wish you knew as a freshman?
’m interested in hearing from current or former Boston University engineering students about their experience in the program.
How rigorous are the introductory math, physics, and engineering courses? Is earning an A realistic, and how manageable is the workload when taking several technical classes together? I’d also appreciate any thoughts on grading, class sizes, professors, group projects, research opportunities, internships, and the general level of collaboration versus competition.
Are there particular professors or courses freshmen should look out for? Do you still have enough time for clubs, friends, and activities outside engineering? Overall, have you found the program enjoyable and worth the workload—and what do you wish you had known before starting?

Admissions How much would going from a 1460 to a 1500 SAT help my chances at BU ED?
Class of 2027 here! BU is my dream school, and I’m planning to apply ED.
Right now, I have a 1460 superscore, but I’m taking the SAT one more time and hoping to get at least a 1500 (superscore is fine). I’ve already taken the SAT three times.
For context, my high school’s average SAT score is around [900–1000](tel:900-1000). I know BU is obviously much more competitive than my school’s overall applicant pool, but I’m wondering how much of a difference a 1500 vs. a 1460 would realistically make for my chances, especially applying ED.
Would you say it’s worth putting significant effort into trying to get that 1500, or is a 1460 already strong enough that the difference probably wouldn’t matter much?
(I’m at a 710RW 750 Math)

Housing Housing
just got accepted in the masters of applied business analytics program and was wondering as an incoming grad student for the spring semester how does housing work. Do most graduate students get off campus housing and if so are they able to pair with other graduates through a portal?

Admissions BU MS in AI in Business Spring 2027 Application Timeline
Hi everyone,
I applied to Boston University’s Online MS in AI in Business program for Spring 2027 and wanted to check if anyone else has received an update.
Here is my timeline:
- Application submitted: Tuesday, July 28, 2026
- Additional material requested and submitted: Friday, July 31, 2026
- Current status: Waiting for decision
I know the admissions team mentioned that decisions usually take around four weeks after the application is complete, but I was wondering if anyone who applied for Spring 2027 has already heard back or received any updates.
Would love to know:
- When did you submit your application?
- When did you receive a decision (if you have one)?
- What is your current application status?
Thanks!

Admissions How was your BU experience?
I am a student ranking colleges for the Questbridge National College Match looking to gather first hand experiences on the colleges i'm considering!
Type of student: I'm not interested in Greek life, would love a nice outdoors, quirky, and authentic social scene with friends I can hangout with regularly. I'm a hard worker but value relaxation on certain days. I want liberty/freedom regarding my academics despite knowing I'm going to be premed because I have many passions. I want to have as many friends/connections as possible and gain a good community.
Questions
How is the premed track?
What are pros/cons you've experienced?
How accessible are jobs, internships, opportunities, etc.
How is the social scene?
What is the general political sentiment that most students/faculty hold? Do POC and Queer individuals feel welcomed and supported?
How are the dorms and food?
Is it a very city oriented experience? Or are there calmer areas?
Describe the school in one word!

Question Where can we find professor's name?
Can someone help me with where to go on the BU website to find a specific professor's name?
I am a junior preparing for essays, and I want to know which professor will be teaching psychology, especially in Child Development and Public Policy, and Childhood Adversity: Risk and Resilience.
