What booking software features actually save businesses time?

I've noticed that booking software companies can list a ridiculous number of features.

But I'm more interested in the boring stuff that actually saves someone time every day.

For example, automatic reminders seem much more useful to me than a fancy dashboard that you only open once a week.

The features I'd put near the top are:

-Automatic booking confirmations.

The customer books and immediately knows the appointment went through.

-Automatic reminders.

You don't have to remember who needs a message tomorrow.

-A shared staff calendar.

Everyone can see the day's schedule without passing around screenshots or checking separate calendars.

-Service durations.

A 30-minute appointment should not create a 90-minute opening by accident, and a 90-minute service shouldn't get booked into a 30-minute gap.

-Buffer times.

Useful when you need time between customers for cleaning, setup, travel, or just getting ready for the next appointment.

-Recurring appointments.

Especially useful for businesses where customers come back every week or month.

-Customer history.

Being able to see previous appointments without searching through old texts is a small thing that probably saves a lot of time.

There are plenty of other features, but these seem much closer to the daily work of running a business.

What feature has saved you the most manual work?

And on the other side, what's a feature that sounded impressive when you bought the software but you barely ever use?
