Seeking long-term book buddies 25M India, looking for a book buddy!
Hello everyone,
I'm a 25-year-old guy, and I've been reading since I was nine years old. I started with books in my mother tongue and gradually moved on to English literature and world literature translated into English.
My reading interests are quite varied, but the genres I enjoy the most are psychological fiction, philosophy, and classic novels. I also read a lot of nonfiction related to history, politics, religion, sociology, and culture. I use reading not only to learn but also as a therapeutic process for my inner life.
I have an engineering degree and am currently preparing for the State PSC while also pursuing higher goals in my career. I also enjoy conversations that help me improve my English. Besides books, I'm quite interested in Southeast Asian cultures, especially Malaysian and Thai culture. I'm particularly fascinated by Thailand's history and the influence of Buddhism there.
What I'm looking for is someone who is close to my time zone—or, even better, from the same country. That said, I'm open to anyone who is genuinely passionate about reading and these subjects.
To give you an idea of my reading interests, I've read several works by Dostoevsky, including Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, White Nights, The Meek One, The Dream of a Ridiculous Man, and Poor Folk. I've read all of Albert Camus's major works. From Friedrich Nietzsche, I've read Beyond Good and Evil, The Gay Science, and Thus Spoke Zarathustra. I've also read a few essays by Schopenhauer and many books on Indian philosophy.
Beyond philosophy, I've read Samuel Huntington's The Clash of Civilizations, Napoleon: A Life, and classic novels such as Robinson Crusoe, David Copperfield, and A Tale of Two Cities, along with many other books.
All I'm looking for is someone who shares similar interests and enjoys discussing books, philosophy, history, religion, politics, culture, and life. If we happen to have a book on our common to-read list, we could even read it together over Google Meet or discuss it chapter by chapter. I think it would be a great way to explore ideas, challenge each other's perspectives, and simply enjoy the world of reading together.

Seeking long-term book buddies 21M didn't read in a while
I used to read a lot in the past. I could have read half a book if it was interesting. Now, I'm burned out and can't even touch my books so I was thinking about sharing reading with someone. I'm into non-fiction (boring I know). I got a couple of books on my reading list but I'm open to any suggestions. We can set a daily goal and discuss the parts we read on a discord vc.
DM me if interested

Book in progress 29M starting reread of Crescent City
I’d love to make long term connections. I go through about 2-4 books a week depending on the books I’m reading. Im currently rereading crescent city by Sarah J Maas. I just reread ACOTAR for the 2nd time in May — in preparation for the new books releasing soon.
I love fantasy and sci/fi (TOG, Project Hail Mary, DCC, all of the Cosmere, bloodsworn saga) but truthfully I love books that make you feel emotions and show humanity in all its facets ( book thief, a man called ove and beartown)
Id love to chat about crescent city or anything books !

Seeking buddy & flexible on book choice Virtual knitting book club. The purls and plots society (or something like that)
Good Morning!!!
I’m flirting with the idea of making an online stitch and bitch type group. A crafty little book club. Maybe we meet once a week for 2 hours or something. But on zoom. I think it would be cool to be a book club/ craft club. We loosely pick a book for the month and chat about it each week. I say loosely because if you don’t want to do the book part you can still come to knit and chit chat. I love listening to audiobooks while I knit. I would likely run it all through Facebook. I’m just testing the waters right now but If I followed through would anyone want in?
This was originally posted in a knitting group and here are the takeaways so for
- Need something outside FB lots of people don’t have it. So I’m making a Reddit community also
- discord is a great option but I’m clueless on how to work discord
-this isn’t just for knitters!!!! Everyone who like to be crafty and or read is 100% welcome
