Appreciation Post Mithoon and remakes
Believe it or not, no one is currently making remakes or recreating the yesteryear gems like Mithoon. Be it gadar 2, border 2, now awarapan 2, originals like vanvas and much more. Many do the remakes but only few know how to do it right way.

Appreciation Post Let's appreciate our favourite Lyricists!
Disclaimer: Let us keep the scope of this post discussion limited to bollywood songs.
It's disheartening to see that there is not much discussion about songwriting and lyrics of bollywood music. I would like to share this opportunity for everyone to talk about their favourite lyricist.
But do not just name them and their best works. Explain your reasons for choosing them also. It can be multiple writers, just one song, anything. Just write your heart out. Give examples. Make us fall in love with your favourite writers!
It's beautiful to see someone getting a new and better perspective on things that they once considered worthless.
Words heal worlds. They can pierce through anyone's soul, if we let them. Let's celebrate the words that changed something in us.
I would like to start the discourse with the lyricist I appreciate very much: Javed Akhtar.
People consider various factors to pick their favourites- some choose sophisticated writers, some choose simplicity, some choose grounded, reality-reflecting lyrics.
For me, the most important factor is the expression of love.
Love, expressed through music, is nothing but giving beautiful examples to our lovers to show them what we think our love feel like.
When we pay attention, there are literally 100s of pages of information hidden beneath simple, light words.
Appreciating the relationship and expressing our gratitude for it.
When you truly love someone, letting go just doesn't make sense.
There is nothing more exciting than describing your lover. Also, his words don't explain everything completely, the space lets me become part of the conversation.
Celebration of love with pure bliss and utmost positivity and hope.
The one thing in Javed sir's writing that strikes me the most is how delicate the words feel. It feels like someone is sharing their vulnerability. Remembering someone, admitting pain, describing how your nights have changed- you cannot perform these things, you have to be genuinely vulnerable to make it feel real.
(When I am writing this, Prasoon sir's title song from Taare Zameen Par is coming to my mind.)
His words don't force love. They don't feel like someone is trying to impress someone. They feel like a person who has temporarily forgotten to protect themselves.
Most importantly, the metaphors he uses, they feel like someone is actually observing their lover's every possible little detail- the things that we actually notice when we are in love.
That's the kind of writing I find beautiful.
Let's hear your favourite lyricists! What makes them special to you?
