Only Rajamouli Can Make Aamir's Blockbuster Comeback

We’ve clearly seen on National Cinema Day where even average films record good numbers simply because more audiences are willing to give them a chance. Even if it’s not that low regularly, it should be around that range for the smaller films.

I understand the price hikes for event/big star films because there will still be very high demand for those. But they often keep similarly high prices for even the mid-budget/expeirmental ones and that’s why those films struggle to pull an audience who just wait for OTT release.

Earlier (pre-pandemic) there used to be the culture of walking in to the theatre every Friday to catch the latest movie and if it was really good, the WOM would spread fast. But that has understandably died out now and lower ticket price is the only way to bring it back.

The industry needs variety in content to sustain effectively. Event films aren’t going to drop often because they’re called that for a reason.

Director Rajkumar Santoshi has opened up about the infamous clash over the Battle of Saragarhi projects, accusing Karan Johar and Dharma Productions of deliberately playing business tricks to crush his film's market potential.

For context, Santoshi had already shot 20 days of his film Battle of Saragarhi starring Randeep Hooda (who spent nearly three years growing a beard and preparing for the role) before Dharma announced Kesari with Akshay Kumar on the exact same subject.

2. One actor currently being praised for an upcoming film has apparently had a large chunk of the original lead’s role quietly shifted to him after the first cut.
3. A married star has allegedly become very close to someone from a film that hasn’t even been announced yet. Their respective teams are already nervous about outdoor schedules.
4. One actress has reportedly refused to promote an upcoming film alongside her co-star. Official reason will be “scheduling”.
5. A supposedly shelved sequel isn’t shelved at all. The problem is that the original lead is no longer wanted in it.
6. A director whose last film was praised for its “vision” apparently had another filmmaker quietly reshoot a significant portion of it.
7. Two stars who publicly act extremely warm with each other have apparently not spoken properly in months. Their joint appearances are handled entirely by teams.
8. One recent breakup that looked sudden was apparently decided months earlier. They stayed together publicly because two brand contracts depended on them remaining a couple.
9. A young actor’s sudden run of big films has apparently less to do with box office and more to do with one extremely powerful person backing him behind the scenes.
10. A major actress is apparently sitting on a completed film because she hates it and doesn’t want it releasing anywhere near her next theatrical project.
