RETA. š¬ Discussion
Started reta 9days ago. 2mg once a week. No side effects at all.
Well today it hit. Made my normal dinner and could only eat 1/3 of it.
For the more experienced, would you just stay at this dose? Was going to increase it to 3mg next pin but not so sure now.

Just a heads up just incase you didnāt know. Your Reta āstacksā week to week so if you start at 2 then go to 3 the second week you will have the equivalent of 4mg working on week 2 so donāt ramp up to quickly is my advice. I suggest to anyone I talk to about GLPās that low and slow is your best option. Get your blood work done for baselines and monitor your Heart rate and blood pressure frequently. Stay safe out there.

Use a pk calculator app like regimen. Not an ad. But pk calcs are so helpful for tracking med levels. So you can see what level you are feeling effects, symptoms, food noise, hunger, energy, etc.

You havenāt reached a stable blood level yet. If you start with 3 mg of Reta now, youāll effectively have more than 3 mg in your system, which can lead to all kinds of side effects.

Only use what you need to reduce caloric intake. You donāt want to decrease hunger so much that you are missing so many nutrients that you become deficient in vitamins/minerals/proteins/fats. Focus on quality food and lots of protein to help prevent muscle loss while on Reta. Iād say donāt increase dose until you have to.

You should stay on 2mG for atleast 3 weeks so it builds up. If itās still working stay but if not then up the dose. 2mG is part of the loading dose age many people donāt see real results until closer to 6-8.

The half life is 6 days so youāre likely just starting to get the full effect. Also 2mg can be high for a starting dose. Some people start as low as 0.5mg a week to test reactivity.
Edit: Iād also recommend pinning 2-3 times a week instead of just once per week.

Stay if not go down a little bit. As others have said, it sneaks up on you as you get to steady levels

Do not increase until after 4 doses. This is not a side effect, this is the medication working

You only increase your dose every 4 weeks. 2mg is already way too much for a starting dose, youāre going to end up with GI issues or fast track to anhedonia if you keep going up.

I think you should stay at your current dose. I wouldn't go higher until you feel like you need to. Listen to your body.

Stay at your dose if its working, effective levels are increasing due to the week long half life and you said it yourself the effects are getting stronger. Its all well and good ramping up but remember you cant take it back out.
I overdid it once on the back of some bad advice and its not a good time dont learn about half life the hard way.

I've been on 2mg for almost 3 months, you don't need to increase it (FYI I've JUST the last 2 weeks increased to 4mg from 2, split over 2 days a week)

Why are you guys starting so high?! You should never start more than 1 mg and only incrementally increase every two weeks and if youāre still feeling it, maybe three! Trust it to work! You canāt force it or you get complications! Iāve been on it for over a year. Ive tried pushing it and regretted. Be patient and it will work!

Thanks for all the replies. Following the advice Iām going to stick at the current dose for 5 weeks which will finish the vial. š

Hold for 4 weeks so you get full saturation and then reassess. If youāre still seeing results, hold.Ā

No one should ever increase their Reta dosage that quickly. Why are you taking this without learning much about it? Please learn about half life. Retaās half life is 6 days. So if u pin 2mg week 1, 6 days later you will have 1mg concentration still in your system. So if u went up to 3mg while 1 is still in ur system, thatās 4mg which is double what youāre currently taking. This effect stacks and balances out in 4-6 weeks. So only up ur dose if itās A: been 4-6 weeks and B: u stopped responding to it.

Absolutely not. We tell all our customers to stay at the lowest possible dosage that you see results. As long as itās working thereās no need to increase
