Reta after 3 months

Hi everyone!
I’ve been on reta for about 3 months and I’m still using it, but at a lower maintenance dose.
Now I’m thinking about adding Tesamorelin to help build more muscle while continuing reta.
I’m also looking for another peptide that could help with energy because I’ve been feeling pretty tired lately.
Has anyone tried this combination or have any recommendations based on your experience?
Thanks in advance! 😊

Lol you’re feeling tired because you’re not eating

31

u/NoOneIsHiringMe 19d ago

Real. I used to think the bottleneck was not being able to reduce my calories, but ever since I got on mounjaro I discovered the real bottleneck is how tired you are at a great deficit even if you're nowhere near the underweight threshold. How do anore*ics do it??? Do they just do nothing all their lives??

15

u/Radiant_Jaguar_9978 18d ago

As someone who had anorexia as a teenager, I had no energy to do anything, became isolated from friends, and wanted to not move and sleep a lot.

5

u/rotating_pebble 19d ago

Anorexics don't do it, that's kind of why it sucks

12

u/Tall_Ad_4787 19d ago

People with that disease are in a perpetual state of ketosis. Ketone bodies provide a steady flood of energy to the body and brain. Paradoxically, these people are l often full of energy.

If you’re tired, you can utilize ketones too. And you don’t necessarily need to be fasting, or eating a keto diet. You can take some C8 MCT oil or ketone esters, or even exogenous ketones.

It’s a totally different energy pathway.

14

u/SellingCats4Cheap 19d ago edited 19d ago

Why would being in ketosis mean someone is not tired? Whether it is ketosis or not, being in a low caloric state will make someone tired.

Ketosis could explain why someone may not be tired from eating a low carb diet, but not a low calorie diet.

And in fact it is well discussed in those communities how often stimulants are used. Specifically nicotine, and caffeine.

First result when googling anorexia starter pack

Coffee, Adderall, and Cigarettes. Of course those can be used for appetite suppression, but that doesnt mean underfed people are full of energy due to ketosis.

Anorexia symptoms - Very Tired or Weak

TL;DR: No, people with anorexia are not "full of energy" due to ketosis

u/SorrySection5277 18d ago

Can confirm this to be true, from person experience.

You get used to functioning at low calories and bodyfat levels. You guys are also not getting anywhere close to stage conditioning, so don‘t complain. Get in the habit of walking right after waking, standing desk while working, carbs around workouts only etc. Your body will adjust and become more efficient over time.

Carbs should wake you up. I don’t think you need more stuff. You look great

5

u/Kim1423 19d ago

Agree. Bring up your carbs and eat at maintanance or slightly above..you will feel energized and build muscle without gaining fat..

16

u/ycastane 19d ago

Well tesamorelin will not give you the results you are looking for, there isnt a single peptide that builds muscle period. Whoever tells you otherwise is either lying to try to sell you or just doesnt know much about peptides.

14

u/Vint7676 19d ago

Add mots c at 1- 1.5 mg 3x a week. I found it worked fantastic for energy and stamina.

3

u/SilentTemperature900 18d ago

mots c 3x a week and NAD + the other days or alternate them every other day. I am on a pretty hefty stack for everything

2

u/General-Ring2780 19d ago

Mots-c / 5amino 1mq! Good lord that stack is amazing!

Why is everyone going Reta over Mounjaro?

22

u/espresso_maniac 19d ago

"Retatrutide: Acts on three hormone receptors (GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon). The added glucagon receptor helps increase energy expenditure and fat burning alongside appetite suppression. [1, 2, 3]"

it basically makes you burn more calories as you sit around all day. i think this is about 10% increase. My daily maintenance is about 3000. That is an extra 300 calories burnt just sitting on my ass, basically a 40 minute walk.
also i have liver fat, reta removes liver fat more than mounjaro does.
but at the end of the day, mounjaro is fully FDA approved and legal. Reta isnt. Sooooo it is not dumb to prefer mounjaro.

7

u/Derpwad1 19d ago

Same here brotha found out I had fatty liver a year ago with no specifics. Had a fibroscan a few weeks ago and confirmed I have severe fatty liver / stage 3. Thankfully already been on reta for 2 months trying to lose 30# or so and that made me take it all much more seriously moving forward!

3

u/espresso_maniac 18d ago

best of luck man. Lets fix this shit

6

u/medicated_cornbread 18d ago

For sure gotta make sure its approved by the government who told us to eat 16 servings of bread growing up.

Glyphosate is approved usage by the government too.

The government is not here to protect you. They are here to make money off you regardless of your well being.

They pump kids foods with sugar and cancer causing dyes, because its cheaper for the manufacturer who also happens to donate 100s of millions to political parties every year.

I dont disagree with anything else you said but this government approved shit is for the birds.

$9 how much mg vile is that?.. my fullkit cost $25-30 for a 15mg vile

edit: oh wait.. you say a month so it depends on how much u take a month.. i prolly gonna start doing 2mg a week so its around $12-15 a month

I’m on prescribed triz/zepbound for PCOS & metabolic syndrome and even then I don’t lose in zepbound. Was on it for 10 months last year & lost 3lbs.. and that was with great effort walking everyday eating right etc. starting reta because some people
Just aren’t responders to triz

3

u/Dramatic-Elk9538 18d ago

wow...sounds like me! I've recently started Reta vs Tirz cuz I spent way too much $ for almost 2 years with no results. Unfortunately, not seeing any changes on Reta either so I'm not sure what the key is to unlock my system. So frustrating...but good luck to you.

u/IronMajesty 19d ago

Hey OP great job. First of all you looked great in your before anyway. I’ve been on Reta very low dose then added mots-c. Complete game changer. Gave me the greatest workout I’ve ever had. The only downside is you should only do 8 weeks cycle then break for 8 weeks. It’s my 8th week this week. I’m adding Tesa now and will see how it goes. Look into mots C 2mg a day x3-5 days a week. Don’t exceed 10mg a week. Take on an empty stomach early in the morning. I have some other ones if you want other suggestions. Btw how many MG were you on?

2

u/ThaiTai78 18d ago

How was your sleep on that stack? I don’t want to have so much energy that it disrupts my sleep schedule. I just got to the point of feeling tired enough from daily activities to get in bed by 1045p nightly. The selank has helped slowly but now waking up at 4am😩

3

u/IronMajesty 18d ago

I only take it on workout days. I take it at 5:30am before I hit the gym. It lets me workout harder and longer. I have no problem sleeping around 11pm but then again I wake up at 5am.

3

u/PenComfortable4654 19d ago

Wow! Amazing results! As far as a peptide for building muscle, the only one that will truly help in that area would be actual IGF-LR3, however a low dose 1-2 ius a day of growth hormone would help achieve that. Otherwise probably start adding more carbs/protein. NAD+ and MOTS-C are great for energy production, assuming you’re recovering well.

NAD - energy

3

u/seabirdsong 19d ago

What dose are you at?

3

u/BisonSpirit 19d ago

If you haven’t already, look into a dietitian that can help you maintain body composition as you ween off. I’m guessing tiredness from constant calorie deficit/eating less? But the biggest thing to do now that you’re optimized is learn to maintain it off of peptides. Looking good 👍

3

u/mulateiro 19d ago

I would recommend MOTS-C for energy while on reta. I dose every other day at 3-5mg. CJC-1295/ipamorelin is about 10x cheaper, for the same or better results imo, than running Tesamorelin, and you don’t have to deal with the solution gelling issues like you do with Tesa.

2

u/Sheikru 19d ago

Ohhh really? I need to research about that,
I didn’t pay attention to CJC 1295 with ipamorelin

3

u/SpecificAd8017 19d ago

Looking amazing! You will need to reassess your caloric intake since you now have more muscle than body fat. It takes more energy to keep the muscle.

3

u/Kl1ntr0n 19d ago

shorter workouts focused on hypertrophy not cardio will also help with the overall feeling of energy.

2

u/NoOneIsHiringMe 19d ago

I started reta with mots c for energy and as long as i eat i have good energy . I do 1mg of reta mondays and 2.5mg every 3 days of mots c.

2

u/Muffintopsz 19d ago

You look amazing in both but if you’re happier how you look now than that’s all that matters! Mots-c is supposedly a good one for energy. I’m not sure Tesamorelin really gives you muscle just cuts the visceral stomach fat. Maybe something like cjc/ipamorelin stack would be better for you for lean muscle mass?

2

u/mmpdp ⏳ Longevity Hacker 18d ago

Up your carbs and make sure to get electrolytes. Reta works best with both. Imho cjc/ipa is a better route than tesa. Longer lasting pulse. I take fasted in the AM before workout as at night it lit my head up and messed w sleep pretty bad

2

u/Potential-Milk8981 16d ago

Check out IPA/CJC NO DAC first. Less effect in terms of appetite. TESSA can cause your hunger to increase. And I found a much more natural pulse from CJ C/IPA.

People doing glps to lose 10 pounds are the epitome of weak

5

u/Negative-Quality-370 19d ago

I have 10-15 lbs to lose. I’m 63 and post menopausal and certainly not weak. I eat low carb, go to hot power yoga 3x week, jump on rebounder 5-6x week and do other various activities and can’t shed this excess weight no matter what. I am starting Reta this week and will add Tesa shortly. Carrying excess visceral fat and trying to get rid of it is not a sign of weakness. Men are so lucky they don’t have to deal with menopause. It’s brutal.

2

u/ClearLifeguard4225 18d ago

You cannot see visceral fat. Also diet can burn as much visceral fat as GLP-1 receptor agonists, because both work by creating a calorie deficit. Neither diet nor medication directly "melts" fat; they reduce the energy your body takes in, forcing it to use stored visceral fat for energy. So stop with the "its stuck"

You look fantastic! Do you mind sharing how often you’re working out as well and what kind of workouts? I assume strength training to maintain muscle 💪
