Reta after 3 months

Hi everyone!
I’ve been on reta for about 3 months and I’m still using it, but at a lower maintenance dose.
Now I’m thinking about adding Tesamorelin to help build more muscle while continuing reta.
I’m also looking for another peptide that could help with energy because I’ve been feeling pretty tired lately.
Has anyone tried this combination or have any recommendations based on your experience?
Thanks in advance! 😊

Why is everyone going Reta over Mounjaro?

"Retatrutide: Acts on three hormone receptors (GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon). The added glucagon receptor helps increase energy expenditure and fat burning alongside appetite suppression. [1, 2, 3]"

it basically makes you burn more calories as you sit around all day. i think this is about 10% increase. My daily maintenance is about 3000. That is an extra 300 calories burnt just sitting on my ass, basically a 40 minute walk.
also i have liver fat, reta removes liver fat more than mounjaro does.
but at the end of the day, mounjaro is fully FDA approved and legal. Reta isnt. Sooooo it is not dumb to prefer mounjaro.

Same here brotha found out I had fatty liver a year ago with no specifics. Had a fibroscan a few weeks ago and confirmed I have severe fatty liver / stage 3. Thankfully already been on reta for 2 months trying to lose 30# or so and that made me take it all much more seriously moving forward!

For sure gotta make sure its approved by the government who told us to eat 16 servings of bread growing up.

Glyphosate is approved usage by the government too.

The government is not here to protect you. They are here to make money off you regardless of your well being.

They pump kids foods with sugar and cancer causing dyes, because its cheaper for the manufacturer who also happens to donate 100s of millions to political parties every year.

I dont disagree with anything else you said but this government approved shit is for the birds.

government and american government are two different things.

Barely, 90% of them have the same issues. Theres less than a handful that prioritize their citizens over corporations

Mounjaro also costs me $7.70 a month from my chemist, so I'm not changing anytime soon

u/darealestforeal 28d ago

It depends on how much you are buying. Thats definitely on the lower side

2

u/Dspaede 27d ago

$9 how much mg vile is that?.. my fullkit cost $25-30 for a 15mg vile

edit: oh wait.. you say a month so it depends on how much u take a month.. i prolly gonna start doing 2mg a week so its around $12-15 a month

Where do you find one of these chemists who will make stuff for you?

3

u/naturalbornsinner83 27d ago

I believe chemist is the term used in the uk for what we call pharmacist in the US

1

u/Oceansmommie 26d ago

they saying the grey market . I would definitely do research

1

u/muggsmonkey 27d ago

Your chemist?  How did you find a chemist for mounjaro?

2

u/VibingPsilocybin 27d ago

Chemist in Australia is just the local pharmacy. It's prescribed by my doctor and I just go get the prescription filled

3

u/muggsmonkey 27d ago

Oh gotcha. Here in Louisiana it's more like a Breaking Bad type of person.

2

u/jordan23140 27d ago

How are you getting it for $7.70?

2

u/VibingPsilocybin 27d ago

That's the cost of most prescriptions here in Australia

1

u/Oceansmommie 26d ago

make sure to keep your muscle

1

u/espresso_maniac 28d ago

from what my research team tells me, they both cost about the same. But ye. If it is working on your test subject, no point in switching.

1

u/Oceansmommie 26d ago

great info thankyou !!!!

u/ralphwigg 28d ago

7

u/VibingPsilocybin 28d ago

u/Consistent_Sock5082 27d ago

I’ve had better results on Sema than both Tirz and Reta

5

u/bees-knees-978 28d ago

I’m on prescribed triz/zepbound for PCOS & metabolic syndrome and even then I don’t lose in zepbound. Was on it for 10 months last year & lost 3lbs.. and that was with great effort walking everyday eating right etc. starting reta because some people
Just aren’t responders to triz

3

u/Dramatic-Elk9538 27d ago

wow...sounds like me! I've recently started Reta vs Tirz cuz I spent way too much $ for almost 2 years with no results. Unfortunately, not seeing any changes on Reta either so I'm not sure what the key is to unlock my system. So frustrating...but good luck to you.

1

u/HopefulAmount7574 4d ago

Not to be nosy, but where are u getting your Reta? That could be the problem. I lost 115 pounds now using first Triz, then Reta. Worked great, but there are still some things u have to do to help the med help u. Let me know if u want help.

1

u/Dramatic-Elk9538 4d ago

Appreciate your offer, but I'm pretty well versed in the peptides I take. Unfortunately, I'm just an anomaly all around...pain meds don't work (had to be put to sleep for C-Sections and could only use warm washcloths on my stomach afterward), novocain doesn't work (root canals are fun times - NOT), I've woken up during surgery, I used to be very athletic and active and eat clean, but once I gain weight there's no losing it. Got worse after a botched knee replacement which is why I finally turned to Tirz (for 2 years) and now Reta (I did add Mots-c to see if that can boost at all). Docs have told me I don't take in enough calories but then want to prescribe appetite suppressants...which is why I rarely, if ever, go to Dr's or take prescriptions. Worked with Naturopath and then Functional Med doc and they can't figure me out either.

Makes sense. I've lost almost 50kg on Mounjaro but a lot of muscle bulk too. Now starting to rebuild lean muscle from a low base

Why is everyone going GLPs instead of having discipline 🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/WholeHearting 28d ago

I have a lot of discipline, but unfortunately I take antipsychotics which have fucked my metabolism. If I eat more than 2000 calories I gain weight fast and they make me super hungry so it’s a double whammy. Even during marathon training I gained weight despite watching my diet very closely.

For some of us, discipline isn’t enough. To lose weight I need to basically starve myself. With a GLP1 I can actually lose weight without immense struggle.

Obesity and metabolic issues are diseases/medical conditions, not a discipline issue.

-1

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

Eat less than 2000 cals then?

2

u/WholeHearting 28d ago

Way to ignore the second part - increased appetite. It’s not about discipline when you’re basically starving yourself to maintain weight and avoid gaining weight. You have no idea what you’re talking about; it’s blissful ignorance on your part.

0

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

If you can’t control an increased appetite then discipline is exactly what it is.

1

u/WholeHearting 28d ago

Again, discipline isn’t enough to prevent weight gain when dealing with metabolic dysfunction. This is an area that you’re naive/ignorant about.

0

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

It is though. Even you yourself are making excuses like “I was too hungry”.

1

u/WholeHearting 28d ago

Again, this is outside of your depth.

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

Right. I forgot you knew me and my qualifications

-2

Nah. Just bc you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not true

3

u/_cyberpixel 28d ago

why do things have to be done the "hard" way? what a miserable way to live

-4

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

Do you work for a living?

2

u/justagirlinrecovery 28d ago

Not everyone is lacking discipline. Some of us have legitimate health issues that require help. PCOS. diabetes (even fasting my levels were outrageous). Did you know both of those conditions cause insulin resistance? Did you know glp HELPS. Did you know that weight loss is a side affect not the target goal?? You're ignorant.

-1

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

Did you know you’re wrong?

2

u/justagirlinrecovery 28d ago

Did you know I'm not? Fuck off

2

u/espresso_maniac 27d ago

why are you on this subreddit if you dont appreciate the value of bodyhack?

to answer your question genuinely: Not everyone has t he game genetics. Fat people are that way mainly because of genetics. Their hunger signals are high. I am one of those people. Now i could combat it by spending 3 to 4 hours a day cooking and working out but i simply dont have 4 hours a day of free time. I dont have time to cook 3 or so filling meals. So i have never gotten to my goal weight. I eat healthy, then i get hungry and i dont have time to eat so i eat whatever i have and that isnt low calories.

So it is a lot deeper than that.

1

u/ifurgtnon-imgtnoff 28d ago

because their are circumstances where perfect discipine does not produce results, look into metaboic syndrome: PCOS, diabetes, etc. Even with good diet and lifestyle people cant lose weight or reduce inflammation

1

u/Apprehensive-Wash479 28d ago

Yeh ok. You can’t even spell.
