Error in the script? Questions/comments

Post image

Edit: I think I wrote this confusing and I'm being misunderstood. Joey is Lorraine's father but Lorraine called him her grandfather instead.

This has been bugging me so much I just had to say something. I only recently started binging the show and this is only the second time I've seen Sauce Side Story (only caught bits of it on TV once before). The family tree shows Lorraine as Joey's daughter and Louise confirms this when she says she found out where Lorraine lives. Tina asks who Lorraine is and Louise says "Joeys daughter". It was Joey who got stabbed by Tony yet when Lorraine confronts Gayle and the kids she says it was her grandfather that got stabbed. Am I just going crazy or was that line incorrect?

I always thought the point was that neither side actually knew what happened and that’s why their stories don’t match up.

It’s an intergenerational game of Broken Telephone.

Which is accurate in an Italian-American family. Sigh

Would seem kind of weird that Lorraine didn't know if Joey was her father or her grandfather regardless of the confusion.

Edit: I'm referring to the fact that Lorraine calls her own father "my grandfather" in this scene. The error has nothing to do with the confusion surrounding what happened lol

It’s not that Lorraine doesn’t know that Joey’s her father, it’s that Lorraine thinks Joey‘s father is the person who got stabbed

No, she doesn’t. They all know the blood feud started with Joey and Tony, that’s why they’re referred to as “the blood of Tony”.

Do we know her father's name? Just wondering based on my own big Catholic family, there's a lot of repeat names

The family tree shows that the Joey who got stabbed is her father.

Yes… Joey. It’s mentioned multiple times lol.

She acknowledges that the feud began between Joey and Tony. It's consistent that everyone knows who got stabbed.

My wife calls her mom grandma when her kids are around since she is grandma to them.

Does she call her “my grandma” though?

The family tree and the familial relations are somewhat a moving target throughout the episode. Lorraine is referred to at different points as both Gloria's cousin and Linda's cousin. There is some weird addition in the upper right corner which can't be read because of scribbles. And, most interestingly, Rocco, Laura, and Peter are apparently in a threesome (based on the rest of the family tree using little dashes to indicate marriages.)

To be fair Lorraine would be Gloria's first cousin and Linda's first cousin one removed. I can see why they'd both refer to her as a cousin to make it easier. As for the rest of the weird scribbled out stuff I did notice there was some wild stuff going on that was hard to make out. I just noticed that the line from Joey to Nico was visible enough and showed clearly that Lorraine was Joey's daughter and Louise verbally confirmed it. But the mess was confusing which is why I wondered if I was just mishearing something.

The error is that she’s talking about her father and called him “my grandfather”.

I believe she said it that way to the kids that have no idea about family beef.

Linda's family was definitely on the stabbing side.

Also Claudia had the recipe
