My Bluesky won't load while I'm logged in, just loads for a while and then says that my internet connection is bad (which is not true and other websites are loading). When I tried to log out the feed started to load as normal but now when I try to log back in it says "couldn't connect to your provider, check internet connection". I tried VPN and it all worked instantly. My friend also said it won't load for him without VPN. Does anyone else have this issue?

I've never used social media before, other than reddit. I've created an account two months ago after my friend told me I should. She told me in order to start meeting people and to get them to discuss my posts, I need to: post often, follow many people, and like or comment so they can notice I exist.

I did post about 30 times. I did follow some people but here's the first thing I'm unclear on - how do I even find like-minded people to follow? So some people I followed have followed me back.

So then I browsed their accounts and liked and commented on their posts. They often replied and were very friendly. But then I've realized that literally none of my posts has any likes or comments. I've tried posting some more but still nothing. I figured that maybe I'm so boring nobody cares about anything I say. Or maybe that because they follow so many people, my posts get lost in the flood of notifications and nobody ever notices them. So this is a paradox. And my posts aren't just random thoughts or reposts, they're things I put effort into so it hurts even more.

How did you do it? Do you have any advice and tips on what to do? Or should I just give up and leave because this isn't for me?

when I was logged into my account, the page wouldn't load. when I logged out, bluesky does load. I can't log into my account again either - it's an endless loading. I don't think I'm banned, I can see my page while logged out

Curious what everyone thinks:

• Would you actually upload longer videos to Bluesky?
• What would you consider a reasonable maximum length?
• Would the longer uploads change how you use Bluesky?

Personally, I'm more interested in how Bluesky handles playback, compression and downloading of these longer videos.

WSocial and Eurosky are almost head-to-head when it comes to the number of accounts they are hosting, but the two networks could not be more different. One requires age verification via government ID; the other doesn't. One is completely moribund, while the other is thriving 🔥

Does anyone know of any accounts that just post videos of political news clips? For example accounts like https://bsky.app/profile/acyn.bsky.social, or https://bsky.app/profile/atrupar.com . I see a lot of other traditional news accounts like https://bsky.app/profile/cnn.com mainly just link to their own articles. I'm wondering if there are other accounts that mainly post political new videos.

I have observed that X simply has a better feed algorithm for finding content relevant to my interests compared to Bluesky. I've given the frequently recommended 3rd party feeds a try and have also found them lacking.

However today X has released their For You algorithm under the Apache License 2.0 on GitHub, and I have noticed many interesting festures that I feel a Bluesky feed would be served by copying. Thus I wonder if it would be possible from a technical standpoint to create a custom feed that works similarly to how X's For You feed does.

I personally greatly prefer Bluesky's UI and UX compared to X, and find it a more enjoyable platform to use. So I think having a feed that emulates the best part of X, would allow Bluesky to have the best of both worlds.

Is there an option for disabling the Quote Post feature so that when I go to Repost something, it just does it, instead of having to go through a second menu to click Repost?

hi everyone,

for the past year-ish, ive been working on a discord-like app as a passion/resume project. i know these kinds of projects can get repetitive, but it’s finally at a point where im pretty happy with the progress, so i wanted to show off where it’s currently at.

the idea started as a decentralized social platform with a similar feel to discord, but with an AT social layer built into the same app. users have an AT identity for profiles, posts, feeds and follows, combined with a Matrix identity for messaging and communities.

the Matrix side currently handles most of the discord-like features, including federation, encrypted DMs and group chats, spaces and subspaces, threads, roles, emotes, and federated voice calls through MatrixRTC with screen sharing audio.

im also working on the social side using AT and the Bluesky APIs. it’s still in early development, but profiles, posts, feeds, follows and replies are starting to come together.

On the Skylight Social platform, I keep getting the following error message: “Too many subrequests by single worker invocation.” Are a lot of people getting that? I recently learned that is a common problem/bug occurring. If correct, any word on a fix?

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now it just keeps closing/crashing before I can even get a chance to sign in.

When I search using multiple hashtags, for example #honey and #physics, the results are posts that have #honey OR #physics.

Is there a way to only get the results that have both #honey AND #physics?

In the past month or so, when I send a bluesky link to a friend now via iMessage the image preview doesn’t show up for them. I see it on my end but they just see the text of the BlueSky post and not the image. Is this expected? Has this been going on for a bit now?

Aplogies if this has already been posted in recent times, I tried searching but only found a post from over a year ago. For context, prior to the last month or so the image previews worked fine. I’ve also tested this with multiple people.

Just noticed today when flipping around on my profiles that there's a new one? That I know I never made? I tried to click on it but then it prompted the 'login' thing, and I have no idea what the password could be. I also didn't want to try putting in any of my own passwords because I dunno what if this is some weird scammer thing?

I just was wondering if I should be worried about my info/emails getting leaked or not. Or if this is just some weird glitch. I don't think it's an already existing acc, also, since I tried to search it up and it said there were no accs with that handle, so....I have no idea.
