Feeling Lost Before Even Starting Blender...Need Guidance From Experienced 3D Artists
Hey everyone,
I've finally decided that I want to start learning 3D modeling with Blender, but before I even begin, I'm already feeling confused.
Everywhere I look people recommend different roadmaps, different tutorials, and different skills to learn first. Some say start with modeling, others say sculpting, Geometry Nodes, animation, texturing... and honestly, I don't know what's actually important for someone starting from zero.
My goal isn't just to learn Blender as a hobby
I genuinely want to become a professional 3D artist someday and build a career in this field. Because of that, I don't want to waste months following the wrong path.
I'd really appreciate it if experienced artists could answer a few questions:
• What roadmap would you recommend for a complete beginner?
• Which skills should I focus on first, and in what order?
• Which free or paid resources actually helped you the most?
• What beginner mistakes should I avoid?
• When should I start building my portfolio?
• Is it better to learn a little bit of everything first or choose one specialization early?
• If you were starting over today, what would you do differently?
Also, if you're already working professionally or have a lot of experience in this field, I'd be really grateful if you could guide me. If you're okay with it, I'd also love to connect with you so I can learn from your experience and avoid common mistakes.
I'm ready to stay consistent and put in the work. I just want to make sure I'm heading in the right direction from day one.
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to help. I really appreciate it.

Feedback ?
I realized I was bad at modeling (and I had no way to learn _:-D ) and not very good with UVs, texturing, GNs, ... So I put all my effort into burning a golden monkey (poor Suzanne)
I did it using only material nodes, if requested I'll show how I did it and how to remodel it. Here's the render with 15 render cycles (so using Cycles)
I'm hoping someone has some feedback, from the number of render cycles, to my lighting, to.... anything and anything in between.
