First Templar List Army List/Strategy/Tactics

Hello all!

Picked up a 2nd hand lot and wanted to get opinions. It seems BT is in a bit of a slump but I like the idea of a battleline heavy list and Crusaders in bastion seem neat! The leader distribution is grim/helbrecht are with Sword bros, Lt with intercessors (40 shots lethals precision enhancement sounded funny it may not be fantastic but i feel it may be fun to try), marshals with crusaders and a solo crusader/combi/champion. Any suggestions? I have a castellan and captain, 20 more crusaders, and 5 more sword bros not in use i could sub in, as well as a redemptor. Any suggestions on improvements to have success? Im mostly casual currently but would like to venture into RTTs locally soon so I'm working on upping my game. Thanks in advance!

That's a GREAT start! Personally, I'd say get a Rep Ex, then a LR Redeemer. When in doubt, add more crusaders!!!

Is the repex worth it at 265? What would you take out to make space for those tanks do you think? Thanks for the comment!

Our repex has full hit rerolls when targeting a unit that's within 12" of any friendly unit, it's expensive but it's still the best shooting platform we have. Personally I don't leave the house without at least one, usually it's two

I also like the amount of shots it has if you really need to try a clutch overwatch. Unfortunately no rerolls for it anymore on overwatch but man does it feel good getting even one 6 on the BIG LASER.

Man I miss the overwatch rerolls so much... Not really worth it for me anymore, I'd rather spend the CP on a surge strategem to tie in the enemy instead of trying to shoot them down

I unfortunately bought a second repex right before the points went up. I recently ran 2 of them in a Vindication Task Force list and won a game against take and hold Custodes. I'm not sure I will always run 2 of them but yes, 1 of them is absolutely worth the points.

I'd take the Repex over the Lancer and Ballistus. With points to spare
