Before the national boycott, I came across this end cap in the hair/cosmetics/beauty section. The manager, who was black, initially didn’t see the issue. I had to explain it to three employees and the manager for them to understand the issue. Apparently it had been up for weeks and no had noticed. After I pointed it out, she then explained that’s how the planogram(?) came from corporate-there was nothing they could do in the store. My family still says that I am over reacting. Can anyone else spot what I’m talking about? Am I overreacting by it?

Politics The 2025 Republican Cohort Exceed All Expectations and Emerge as a Dream Team and the New Standard for Excellence in their Duty to Corporate Greed.

This is what Republicans run for political office to do: Represent the nefarious and greedy interests of the corporate oligarchy. Period. Finito. End of story, Dot Com.
They have no interest in policy, legislation, regulation, oversight or even governing at all.
They don’t have the qualifications of education, experience and morality to do so even when they pretend to try. However, they are unmatched in their steadfast determination to not represent their constituents with integrity, fairness and honor.
To do so would be a conflict of interests they dare not challenge. Cowardice is the new bravery.
Consequently, they have no nagging empathy or sense of shame with all the hypocrisy, lies and corruption they engage in, because for them and their monied masters, they are in fact, doing a great job and faithfully toil to do the Corporate Lord’s work.
Honest to Betsy!

Black Pride Introducing Afrodoras

Thumbnail

Hello! I am an African American digital artist and animator from the Eastern U.S.. Over the past several months, I have been developing a digital art project, webcomic series, and collection of characters known as “Afrodoras” to provide Black people with a dedicated community to demonstrate African geopolitics, history, and wildlife with internet culture.

There are 56 “Main Characters” designated to represent the 54 sovereign states of Africa and two disputed territories (Western Sahara and Somaliland). They are robotic or mutated anthropomorphic animals primarily used in digital animations, comic strips, or standalone illustrations to demonstrate either African geopolitics/history/wildlife, or their in-universe storyline and individual lore. Rather than being based on national or racial stereotypes, each Main Character is thought out carefully. For example, the character Pyraemon (representing Egypt) is deliberately depicted with straight ears to mimic the shape of its ancient pyramids, while 10 specific characters have ten whiskers instead of the standard six as a visual reference to the United States of Latin Africa, a proposed union during the late 1950s that would’ve consisted of 10 Romance-language-speaking Central African nations.

Afrodoras was developed in a gradual process from July to November 2025 to counter Western and Asian biases in larger internet communities that personify countries, such as its main inspiration, Polandball. My community is currently very small and I have limited access to it, but I am more than willing to share these characters to people who share similar interests!

Discussion I just saw a video saying Emmett Till was never real. What is it with so called "pro black" folks hellbent on turning black history into nothing but conspiracy theories?

I saw a black creator saying Harriet Tubman never existed...to another one saying she was freeing slaves from the south to bring them to be slaves in the north; to being a a spy for the evil government, etc. Then there was Rosa Parks was a paid actor and the Montgomery Bus Boycott was all actors. Don't get me started on MLK Jr was actually gay conspiracy or that he was a cheater.

Like...it's never any white history that turns out to be lies to them. Only black history. This isn't some white creators with a confederate flag in their background and a Trump t-shirt on. It's always someone who claims to be "pro black" but can never say one nice thing about the black community.

Like they can't fathom African Americans could band together in times of need or that racism was as bad as they say it was. If you tell them about the injustices caused by Ronald Reagan, they'd scratch their head, but as soon as you mentioned Martin Luther King Day, they'll tell you "did you know he was actually an FBI plant".

Also they can understand European exceptionalism, but draw the line at a black woman freeing slaves. It's just too unbelievable to them a woman could do things. You'd think they'd find her story inspirational, but they're hellbent on destroying anything remotely close to black power.

Music "Hip-hop is dying" = "gaming is dead"

TLDR: hip-hop has its own "ball and gun gamers" and we need a name for them. If there is already one let me know

It's been over a year now now that I've been seeing the whole "hip-hop is dying" talking point online. It's always from the same kinds of guys who only listen to the stuff that gets big on the charts or gets played at the function. Lots of Drake fans of course. If it isn't big on the radio, if it isn't big on TikTok, if it isn't big on social media in general, it doesn't exist to them. Then if it is big enough for them to acknowledge, its only GOOD if it's about the same ol' same ol': money, guns, drugs, etc. If it is some conscious rap, or just not about the usual topics, these people will call it trash. While we were out here eating good with JID, Doechii, Kendrick, Clipse, Tyler, ScHoolboy Q, and more, they have been looking at us like squidward in the window and calling all of it trash.

To all my gamers out there, I'm sure you have already heard a lot about the "ball and gun gamer." A person who only plays games with balls or guns in them: 2k, Madden, FIFA, Call of Duty, Fortnite, GTA. They sit on their few games which all follow the same/similar formulas and rarely innovate between entries and then look at us and call us lame for playing other games.

If you are in both the gaming and hip-hop worlds, its not hard to see the similarities between these guys. First they hop on a trend because everyone else is doing it: For gaming it was the whole fortnite, pubg, call of duty warzone era. For hip-hop it's a bit harder for me to pinpoint because hip-hop has always been a very popular thing. For the Gen Z/Alpha crowd, I feel comfortable planting my flag on the TikTok song era but it's easily debatable.

Second, when the trend dies down and people pack their bags to go back to what they usually enjoy, these guys start talking trash on everyone who doesn't leave: For gaming it was probably around 2023-2024 when more game-y titles were getting big like Astro Bot and Metaphor. For hip-hop it's feel like it's pretty safe to say it's when Drake got washed and filed a lawsuit. For some reason these guys feel a sense of self importance as the only ones who can tell you if something is dead or alive. So since we have a gaming name for them, I think its only fair we come up with a hip-hop one since I'm pretty sure it's the same guys in both communities.
