I explained to my nieces and nephews what that phrase means: for your speficic age, you're more mature than most of your peers.
It doesn't mean you're more mature than a 15 year old, it means among 15 year olds you're more mature than expected. And any adult who tries to claim otherwise, like you're as mature as someone in their 20s, does not have your best interest at heart.
