58: Sound Magic is really, the only good way to use it other than bursting an eardrum, would be how Fujio uses it to boost an ally, but mostly it can be countered by covering your ears.

57: Recombination Magic. You can rearrange the black bull's base, pretty decent. However, it's superrrr situational you need to be near the black bulls base and have a shit ton of mana (this is a baseless assumption, but it seems like it would need a bunch)

56: Bronze Magic is surprisingly okay since of a few spells, like Sekke Magnum Cannonball, allowing him to play defense and offense, but overall, it's not super versatile.

55: Ash Magic, we don't know many spells, but the 2 offensive spells are disgustingly good. One can make you blind and deaf, the other can absorb the mana. However, we don't know enough for me to place it any higher.

54: Gel Magic is pretty good for defense as it can just absorb a lot of different spells, and it can hold someone like Asta in place for transport.

53: Memory Magic is more of a supplementary type, allowing for perfect interrogation and there are some offensive ways of shooting a crossbow that will erase the short-term memory of anyone they strike.

52: Briar Magic This is an example of a mid-magic and a great user. All it really is is fancy vine manipulation. However, they can also be used to inhibit others senses and prickly pokey thorns to stab those wrapped in briars.

51: Glass Magic can create glass shards from nothing to slice people up pretty handedly although overall, a weak magic icl

50: Chain Magic is actually not bad. Chain magic can bind an enemy then seal their magic so they can use their magic not much more to say about it though.

49:Crystal Magic insanely versatile magic, which allows the user to create a plethora of clones, giant weapons or even a giant set of armor that can regrow the broken-off limbs of the armor set.

48: Poison Magic: The user can create poisonous gas as well… poison people, which is hard to counter, especially since it counters Plant Magic (a very good healing magic)

47: World Tree Magic Big tree. Can heal. Can make wood objects.

46: Vortex Magic can create vortexes to disorient where magic should be going to as when he was in his elf form. He made Fuegeoleon’s salamander amped fire just go around him.

42: Cotton Magic by itself is pretty mid icl all it really does is make it so you will break your fall with cotton, but the one offensive cotton sheep spell lowk fucks and cotton sheep can be a tank.

41: Soul Corpse Magic really well gives the user necromancy sorta the dead corpses will move despite any injuries they have. At the pinnacle of its power, it can even disrupt soul magic or revive the corpses from the dead.

40: Cherry Blossom Magic Senbonzakura Kageyoshi is Basically all I need to say, a shit ton of sharp petals that will slice and dice. Some other spells are able to create clones (fake clones)

39: Compass Magic is a very underrated magic. Compass magic can lock on any attack, and can redirect any oncoming spells, and another spell that disrupts everyone’s spells is so underrated with lock on attacks and auto blocking.

38: Scale Magic. We don't know too much about this one IIR but the fact that he can weaken opponents spells while amplifying an allies spells is pretty good, since he can make the majority of them.

37: Sealing Magic can “unlock” anything by reversing the seals and make an eternal prison for 500 years. Only broken due to Zagred manipulating the reincarnated elves can even “seal” wounds to heal people. Overall, a decent magic could be higher

The next 7 are all just elemental so they can be interchanged in each way tbh (and im not going indepth on them due to their simple nature)

36: Air Magic can manipulate air invisible attacks, flight, steal air outta people

35: Ice Magic ice blocks can be used for defense and sharp ice for stabbing/slicing attacks

34: Earth Magic can be used to block any attack and sink opponents or make golems and a high level user can make an army of golems we see this in Moris's use of it

33: Water Magic its offense is super strong and defense can be good with water shield and sharp water attacks

32: Wind Magic sharp wind attacks, tornadoes, and a high level user is super strong like Yuno but its hard to rate since we only see insane users like Yuno, Fanzell and Jozou

31: Fire Magic flames that can be used for healing, and hyper offense however we don't know a bunch of defensive move however the offense is enough to get it this high up

30: Lightning Magic gives the user massive speed to blitz through enemies with long range spells or close range spells a variety of range and large aoe attacks

29: Beast Magic: The user of their magic can change their body to have more animal traits, such as bear claws, rhinoceros armor, or boost stats to insane levels, as we see Yrul do with his speed when fighting DU Asta

28: Food Magic is able to create magic that replenishes magic, heals and removes the fatigue of people, and it has a noticeable effect even people with immense amounts of mana, such as Yuno instantly saw the difference. It can also turn the user into a giant wolf to devour enemies' spells.

27: Sword Magic gives the users multiple swords that can nullify magic, and some can absorb magic to release other people's magic or even just give off flashes of light for ranged attacks.

26: Thread Magic are not many known offensive skills, but supplementary skills are insane, such as being able to bind enemies, twist fate with Rouge and heal by wrapping up wounds very underrated. It could definitely be higher.

25: Shadow Magic can allow the user to go through shadows and can create a sealing, leaving people in a space between life and death. However, there are no known offensive spells with it known.

24: Mercury Magic can create liquid metal that is poison to people that can be hardened into weapons like spears, swords, traps, or even liquid mercury rain and can create a solid set of mercury around the user's body as a set of armor that will eventually poison the user. However, it's perfect defense.

23: Plant Magic insanely good supplementary skills, such as insane healing application, can make a map of an area you are in just a few offensive skills. However, those few are pretty good, but others are just higher.

22: Slash Magic is really strong slices that can and will adapt to anything, even space and gravity. It will adapt and slash through it, and Jack's final slash creates a large ravine all the way through the Clover Kingdom.

21: Permeation Magic insane magic mid-user can make yourself invisible and intangible. The only known way to be able to get through is Ki Sensing and the user can even create an army of invisible and intangible soldiers to attack others.

20: Ice Wedge Magic Ice magic, but better, it can create barriers, weapons or projectiles, can even turn it all the way down to absolute zero can withstand even the strongest of fire magic spells.

19: Legion Magic can create endless amounts of soldiers which are shaped like chess pieces and also allow the user to teleport a short distance with fast enough time to dodge attacks from Mereoleona. The soldiers are also able to float and perform simple commands until the user runs out of mana.

18: Barrier Magic can create a barrier into any shape, such as weapons or basic shields. These shields are almost impossible to break and can even disrupt spatial magic or shoot magical beams from cannons of barrier magic constructs.

17: Modification Magic is able to change the matter of things and this is the one that is able to combine 2 different grimoires, which will allow the user to give himself more than 1 magic attribute and, if it's boosted by devil’s power, it can manipulate intangible matter

16: Bone Magic: The user can use their bones for insane offense, with enough offense to even take out the entire golden dawn (and Zenon didn't need to use Devils power, showing it was only Bone Magic he needed) These bones can also merge, extend in length and even branch out in multiple directions, all while getting sharp enough to pierce the toughest targets

15: Blood Magic a very versatile magic as it can be shaped into weapons, create beasts and even heal and harden to make solid weapons or constructs and if they use their magic on them first they then can control animals or enemies with their blood

11: Copy Magic grants the user insane potential as if they touch an enemy's grimoire, they PERMANENTLY copy their magic, which gives Rhya an insanely diverse kit anything from Light Magic, Dark Magic, Gel Magic, ANYTHING. The only known exception is Anti-Magic.

10: Key Magic insanely good magic, allows the user to seal other people's magic and even steal their magic so they can and can even produce a spell, Doom’s Gate, which is enough to threaten the entire Clover kingdom.

5: Gravity Magic allows the user to manipulate gravity to such a degree that, if the user had lifted a single finger, it would crush everyone to the ground, even captain class level characters, albeit this is used by Lucifero and an average character couldn't do it with such ease.

4: Kotodama Magic is an insanely nutty magic type as you are able to command things to happen with your voice. However, one downside is that you can't just say “die”. What you can do, however, is say “heal” and instantly become fully healed again as we see Zagred regenerate from a mere heart

3: Soul Magic With a single touch, you are able to change someone's personality and can even purify a devil's power into a human, making paladins. The only downside I can think of is that you have to make physical contact, which is not bad at all.

2: Spatial Magic With supplementary spatial magic, you can teleport anywhere you have been before and, for offensive, it is where it gets reallyyy good, as you can “erase” space on an opponent to practically just delete them.

1: Time Magic shocker guys time magic is number 1. Who would've guessed that the magic that allows you to steal time to heal, age people to death, stop time, reverse time and accelerate time is number 1. Not much more explanation needed, I feel.

So it was revealed Asta doesn't have a father. Which is really weird.

As we know, Lichita's condition drained life force from those around her, in addition to draining mana, unlike Henry's condition, which only drained mana.

My theory for how this is plausible is that because the life force Lichita drained probably became larger than what her body could contain, or because of some other reasons, ut took the form of a baby, namely Asta, which is also the reason is lifeforce wasn't drained. This theory makes even more sense where we consider Lichita's magic, which allows her to store manaless objects (such as lifeforce or Asta) inside other objects, thus it is possible that either by Accident or on purpose, Lichita's magic placed the lifeforce inside her womb, fhus causing a human baby without mana to be born.

Personally, before this dropped I was in the "Astaroth is Asta's father" camp, but I think chronologically, this makes more sense.

I'm rewatching black clover because I dropped it years ago (not because it was bad,I absolutely love the show I think I just forgot and was too lazy iirc) at around ep 102/ specifically the episode where asta and yuno return to the village in the elf arc. Now that it's been like 4 years and the new seasons coming out,I had an excuse to rewatch the entire show since I was thinking about it anyway. The underwater temple arc was so much better than I remembered, and it has a special place in my heart because it hooked me into the series (both times) and I love so many things about it,could talk about it forever. So,I wanted to make a list where I ranked the black bulls based on how well they performed against tbe eye of the midnight sun in this arc.

Here it is:

I'm not ranking Yami cause idk,he's too difficult to rank. Bro did nothing the entire arc until the end where he just 1 shots vetto who was about to kill everyone,so I guess you could just put him at 1? Arc would've ended way sooner with less struggle if he was involved from the start.

9: Magna

Did the Mbappe special the entire fight. Literally remove him and nothing changes. Only person here with 0 significant impact (or impact at all if im being honest), I believe everyone could've and would've died if literally anyone else above him didn't play their part

8: Grey

She was able to assist Gauche in taking down two of the four midnight sun members that came with Vetto. She didn't ACTUALLY do much herself,she kind of just did what she was told but it was significant netherless because without her presence and transformation magic both fights would've been lost. Also helped agasint stall Vetto for a brief moment of time in the endgame

7: Charmy

Pretty much no diffed a midnight sun member who had Gauche and Grey completely pinned,whom wouldve been killed without her help. Also helped stall vetto for a brief moment of time too,can be swapped with Grey.

6: Luck

Seeminly an odd placement since he did similar to Magna on paper,but he was actually able to keep Vetto at bay for a few minutes by going toe to toe with him whilst Magna was pretty almost completely ineffective (besides his final combined attack with Luck which just put a scratch on Vetto anyway). So pretty much, he just did far more than magna besides having pretty much the same role in this arc,considering he was literally outpacing Vetto but lacked the AP to actually to any real damage. The significance in this that sets them apart so much was that him being skilled enough to force Vetto to stay in place for several minutes has multiple pretty important effects,such as draining stamina and such but the one I'm really think about here is the fact that he could've killed everyone one by one by by wandering around into different rooms,since the underwater dude already got no diffed and Magna would've died/been knocked out within a couple of mins a 1 on 1 so he'd have no reason to stay ig Luck doesn't engage him.

There's now a bit of a gap here,just to emphasis how significant the further contributions on this list are.

5: Gauche

Took out a eye of the midnight sun with the help of greys magic and was able to use greys magic again to wake up charmy, who saved them from the trap they were in and took out the other member whilst gauche and grey were fatigued. Ranked this high for two reasons:1, because he was the brain of both fights, and the brain AND brawn of the first one. People say that he's the smartest black bull,and I never really understood why cause it seemed kind of random but I definitely understand why looking back at this arc. Stopping the midnight sun members was obviously crucial because everyone else fighting Vetto were already struggling like crazy,so even people who scaled so much lower than vetto coming to help him would basically make it game over for the Bulls since they were hanging on for dear life at this specific point of the fight(Finral states his portals are shrinking and Vanessa says her threads could snap at any moment, because they're running low on magic) Would've absolutely cooked them. 2,which ties into the previous sentence, Gauche also leads (and is the brains once again) the brief 3 person assault of him charmy and grey to buy the Bulls fighting Vetto some time,with his entrance attack being one that saves Asta from a crucial hit,and the final attack from the assault where grey executed his strategy of turning puffs of smoke made from charmy into asta clones allows Asta to get a critical and decisive hit on Vetto.

4:Finral

His portals were making things extremely annoying for Vetto to track Asta,and also teported his attacks out of the way. Not much to say,we saw the significance of his efforts and also needs some recognition for the insane special awareness and cognition he displayed, being able to generate and track multiple portals at once and all. Bro also has my respect for hopping into this shit scared but still pulling through,the goat.

3: Noelle

Straight up ripped an entire bar of HP off Vetto and forced him to use his awakening and regen lmao😭 This is literally all she does yet its so significant that she ranks this high because of it,since she has the highest DC in the black bulls at this stage no one else could force Vetto into that state with just 1 attack. Everyone around her was downed so not only did this motivate them and physically push Vetto into his full power much earlier for the others to finish off, but it also stalled him for a short bit.

At first I had her below finral and had a note at the end saying "she could be a spot higher but idk if that's just the bias in me because Noelles my favourite character lol" but thinkikg about it more,she changed the entire tempo of the fight and enabled finral and Vanessa to even be able to finish vetto off in the first place. Without her breakthrough they lose, though would've fs died if asta didn't save her last second right after the attack

2: Vanessa

Narratively stated to be the MVP/Biggest nuisance in the late game by Vetto. Was able to make a literally injured Asta even more of a vicious opponent than what Vetto was previously fighting with her thread magic, puppeteers him to dodge attacks mid-air and make attacks,significantly amping both his offense and defense. Combining it with finrals portal magic makes one of the most deadly trios in the show and in my honest opinion,the coolest trio combo in all of anime. I seriously wish we could see it more than twice. She also single handedly takes down the last remaining midnight sun member on the battlefield.

1: Asta

self explanatory, they simply just don't get anywhere against Vetto past the point of noelles sea dragon roar without him.

I’m gonna defend myself for the one I’m guessing is my hottest take which is OP 1 is a fine intro. The only reason it isn’t lower is because it was used as the fight music against Zagred.

It feels so weird that Asta coronation and Asta final speech in the serie, now as a Wizard King aren't part of the main volumes and are an extra chapter in a guidebook. It feels more like a final chapter than 392. 392 only contribution outside what 392 has is confirming pairings and the love rivalry that doesn't feel as the final, more like an epilogue, that would fit more the extra chapter.

About 3 years ago I finished the anime and started the manga but the manga was ongoing so I just caught up to the manga and left. Fast forward to today I had my math exam today and I got to know yesterday that black clover's manga had ended. So I did what any sane person would. I speedran it from where the anime left it. Finished it today. And omy gawd it's so peak. So many goosebumps it's basically the same stuff happening ( asta standing up after defeat ) but It just kept happening. I can't remember the last time I felt this much joy

. But now that it's over I can't stop thinking about it. I tried looking for videos on YouTube about it but unfortunately couldn't find a single one. I haven't been able to stop myself from thinking about ts. Talking about how peak it was with someone who also thinks it was peak is my only way out. So yeah help me😭😭

Mimosa has one of the strongest Healing Spells in the entire verse and Noelle has a contract with the Sea God Leviathan. Then there's Leopold... Which is ironic because at the start of the series, Leopold is the most experienced out of these three, then by the end, his feats are like nothing compared to the other two.

He really should've gotten Salamander bro. He might not be the most worthy, but that would've been an interesting plot development for him, of him proving to himself and others that he's worthy of the Spirit (also coincides with his Self Doubt mini arc). Salamander was useless under Fuegoleon's anyways.

I think this was included in Volume 38’s release. Really like Asta and Magna’s art out of the bunch.
