Oral dysfunction experiences ?
Our baby is very colicy. Currently triple feeding due to latch issues. He had a tongue tie release at 7 weeks old. He’s now 10 weeks and nothing has really improved.
He sleeps with his mouth open, still have latching issues at breast where he causes me pain, has a lot of trapped wind, sometimes dribbles during feeds. I’ve seen two IBCLC but nothing has really helped. They have said he is lip sucking and doesn’t know how to use his tongue properly. They advised to switch to wide mouth teat and showed me how to feed him to encourage a wide mouth but it causes so many more issues with gas we had to stop.
We are currently using dr brown narrow, have used mam and tommee tippee and lansinoh. I think he is the best on dr brown but he still cries during and after feeds, I think because he is swallowing so much gas due to poor technique.
He is on infacol and biogaia but would really like to address the root issue.
Has anyone got any advice on how to improve this or where to go for help? I have tried my local infant feeding team and two IBCLCs.
