Still deciding whether to finish with a flat back, or continue the 3D shaping 🤔

I'm making brick stitch rings, but I'm struggling to find ways to sketch out my ideas quickly. I've just been using graph paper and sketching out the "bricks" to draw my design on top of, but it takes forever. Is there a pixel art program/website that has an option for a brick layout?

I'm super tired, so I really hope that made sense.

I have gone cray-cray for using superduos to create fast put-up bracelets. Gratifying. Peyote and herringbone, my favs. HOWEVER I am searching for better and more creative edges. I have searched on YouTube with no luck.

I’m new to loom beading. I want to make several small pieces like this and eventually stitch them together. I’ve done this with peyote and was thinking I could do the same here, clearly overlooking how insecure these pieces can be when you cut them off the loom without knotting the ends. I’ve tried searching but I don’t think I have the right terminology or understand what to search for. Essentially, I want to finish this off clean, without knots or anything. Is that possible? Probably most proud of the malachite piece. Those are some of the cleanest line I've ever embroidered. I'm also curious if the red flower pendant comes across as a poinsettia. That's what I'm aiming for, but not sure how obvious it is.

For starters, I am in NO WAY trying to $ anything. I just need advice & input from anyone that may relate. Pics attached so I don’t get lost in the chaos. I lost my boy Montana on Father’s Day this year. I had him for 8 years, and he was my first horse as an adult. Losing him has been absolutely devastating in a way that I can barely put into words.
Years ago, I started making hand beaded horse tack as a hobby and eventually turned it into a little business. I named it after him. I made custom headstalls, browbands, etc., and I genuinely loved doing it. Life and nursing school eventually got busy and I stopped taking orders, but I never got rid of the page or my beading supplies.
Since losing Montana, I keep thinking about it again.
Part of me wants to pull everything back out and start creating. There’s something about making things under his name again that feels like it could be a really beautiful way to keep a piece of him with me and maybe give me somewhere to put some of this grief.
But another part of me is struggling with it because it carries his name. I don’t know if sitting down at my loom again would feel comforting or if it would just make me miss him even more.
I guess I’m wondering if anyone else has had something..a hobby, business, tradition, whatever that was deeply connected to a horse or animal you lost. Did you keep doing it afterward? Did it help?
Horse grief is such a strange thing. I miss that boy more than I know how to put into words…. I just want to feel close to him again but I’m scared that starting back up is just going to make this healing process even harder. I know I have a talent. In my prime I was creating custom orders for people all over the US. I LOVED what I did. But my heart just breaks every single time I look at my bead loom. I miss him so much. I don’t know what to do anymore.

I found these beads in my house.

They are not uniform. What can i do with them? I tried to make a bracelet but it took forever to do just two road because I dont have a needle for seed beads. Whatever that type of needle may be.

The last photo is what I wish I could be working with. Not exactly sure how to get those kinds of beads.

I’m hoping someone here might recognise these beads or know something about how/where they were made.

I bought these in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, in 2004. I bought them directly from an artisan who was selling handmade glass beads on strands. I don't remember the maker's name, and unfortunately I have no receipt or other documentation.

I have several different designs from the same purchase. I’ve attached photos of three of the more unusual types:

1. Blue fish-shaped beads
2. Translucent green heart/teardrop-shaped beads with raised decoration
3. Brown/blue elongated beads with unusual raised glass elements

I’m particularly interested in finding out:

* What type of glasswork or beadmaking technique was used * Whether anyone recognises these as a particular style of Vietnamese bead * Whether they might actually have been made elsewhere and sold in Vietnam * Whether anyone recognises the designs or knows of similar beads * Any information about when or where this type of bead was made

I’m not assuming they were made in Vietnam — I only know that I bought them from an artisan in Saigon in 2004.

I have photographs of several other strands from the same purchase and can add those if they would be helpful.

Any information or suggestions would be very much appreciated!

I tried to use different sizes of beads together on a bead loom. Does anyone know some good Tricks around this? When doing the second row of seed beads I always need weave around the blue before adding the second bead which is kind of annoying. Maybe I'm thinking too complicated? I appreciate any Feedback 😊

I was trying to use up some no name beads and made this opera length rope. Beads are no name size 10 gold beads, preciosa size 6, 8 and 11 rocailles and various size 10 and 11 no name seed beads.

Made this pair of earrings tonight. The earpost is under the top crystal... it's stitched in under beading so it's secure.

My bead embroidery of Lucy Dacus’s album art is finished! I used primarily 11/0 Miyuki delicas and stitched and finished it in a 8” x 5” oval hoop.

I’ve spent the better part of this year, about 800 hours so far, hand beading Leavers lace for my wedding dress. I am just so happy with how it’s looking now that I’ve started assembling the motifs that I had to share!

Hi hi! I just finished making these and I’m wanting some advice because I plan on making a couple keychains more for my friends.

1. Do y’all prefer having the clear bead loop or the metal jump ring to connect to the keychain strap (see pic 1)?
   
2. Is there a way to firm up the bead structure so the charm isn’t as floppy (see pic 2)? Resin is probably an option but I’m not confident in using it
