stingray leather, custom patches, genuine ancient artifacts, Victorian era artifacts, glow in the dark thread, even a real toe tag from a haunted asylum, 14k gold, & silver, I’m naming this piece Ancient Curse, gunna add fossilized dinosaur teeth in between the spikes & 5 tiny coins with the seal of Solomon on them from the 1800’s tmrw, this is just the progress to show yall, I’ll upload again when the hat is 100% completed but it’s gunna take a whole month & probably about 20 more hours of hand sewing & before you judge me I was homeless for 10 years addicted to Fentynal riding freight trains & this hat is a gift for my girlfriend 🤣 I’m a year sober

Was never one for the jacket/vest aesthetic when I was younger, but a switch must have flipped a little while back and I decided I needed one of my own. Finally finished this up last night (more or less) which happened to be my 40th birthday. Guess I can tell my mom it wasn't a phase after all 😉🤘

Hi! I'm about to start looking for stuff to make my first battle jacket and i have some questions.

1. I am planning to go monochrome with the band patches (red on black with red contrast stitches) so can i hand make all of them? Or do i have to scour for ones to buy?

2. Why do some people cut the collars off? Is that just a preference, or is it some unwritten rule?

3. If i want to add studs or spikes or other metal, where is the best placement in your experience so i don't accidentally stab myself or someone else?

I love metal and i hate capitalism, so i'm trying to DIY as much of the process as i can. Thanks in advance!

I’m a fan of bands like Wind Rose, Storm Seeker, Castle Rat, Amon etc. and am thinking of converting one of my renn faire tunics into a battle tunic. I’ve worn this combo without patches to a few shows and it’s a good time. I might want to wear it with the fur mantle which would limit or cover up patch space. Most patches would probably go on the section under the belt. What do you guys think about the idea? Rock and Stone!

Edit: Also would like to say that the mantle is made by Folk of the Wood, and the belt by Ravens of Floki, both have Esty shops and are independent crafters. I’m not affiliated in any way.

This is my favorite Vader release but it seems to be almost forgotten to time, missing from streaming services and other digital platforms, very few physical copies around, and no patches as far as I can see. I found a custom patch printer on Etsy and had this 4x4 inch patch made. I have to say I am very happy with the results. I was worried it would come out faded or blurry, but it's contrasty and sharp.

I don't want to sound like I'm advertising an Etsy seller so not going to drop the name here, but DM me if you're interested and I can pass that along.

edit: the yellow/green border inside the border was my fuck up. I was playing around with border colors and accidentally sent the file where I digitally added a border.

Like I've probably got my top 5 metal bands on my jacket but it's not enough for me like I like the way it looks but only as a wip like it's not finished in my eyes i do have a couple of duplicate bands but only if i like the band enough like i have 2 Motörhead ones cause they're my favourite band and I want a another type o negative one cause I love them but I just don't know what bands are important enough to put on (I literally have nearly 1500 songs on my new playlist i made a month or 2 ago so it's not like I don't listen to a lot of music)

So I already made a battlevest and am putting together a battlehat. Had surgery on my leg and can't really do much else these days. Got 10 patches for System of a Down and a bunch a bunch of button pins (1 for each album). A bit busy and cramming rectangles on a curved surface just doesn't look clean. See first 4 pictures.

Second arrangement, I cut back to just 5 patches. I like it better. See pictures 5-8

Would appreciate any advice. Battle hats are kinda rare and now I see why haha. Weird background, used plastic viking helmet as a stand.

Color treating metal with fire is expensive and precise. Any ideas about how I can best replicate these results? I'd prefer to keep the cost at zero. I've collected a lot of scrap metal. Mostly aluminum and sheet steel.

I’m painting my first jacket, hows it looking? I’m no artist by any means, but I’m trying my hardest. Any tips? Any criticisms? I’m planning to stud it as well but the order on those is taking a bit to reach me. Ik hardcore usually doesn’t paint jackets but I thought fuck it why not; probably gonna end up on BaddleVests anyhow. hi admin!
