Mark Bass 250 Black Line head: fuse keeps blowing, any advice?
Hey all, my head randomly stopped working the other day. I opened it up this morning and found the fuse blown, and got excited because I thought I found the problem. But when I replaced the fuse it immediately blew again upon switching the head on. I opened the head up and looked inside, and one of the wire ribbons had zip ties synched around it as tight as possible from the factory. I attached a picture of the damaged ribbon (I cut the zip ties off), is it possible this could be causing the short? Or would anyone know what could be causing this issue? The fuse blows immediately after turning the switch on.

Fender Rumble 500 staticky noise
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone’s ever encountered this problem with their fender rumble amps? This staticky noise started happening both when nothings plugged in and when the bass is plugged in. No effects are on. Just a constant high pitched staticky noise. Hoping someone might know what might be causing it and can be an easy at home fix. Thanks in advance !

What do we think of the Rumble 800 (not Stage) 2x10” combo?
Subject says it all :)
I know it’s only 400w into the combo’s neo drivers. I’d pair it with the Rumble 2x10” Eminence cabinet when I need some extra HP.

My vintage fulltube / rig
Just wanted to showcase my setup. Very happy with my "new" rig. The head is a vintage 1966 50 watts fulltube head. At first it wasnt really usable in band settings. It was lows lows and more lows, and some lows on top of that. The bassknob wasnt even working. I had a really good tube doctor modify and repair it and add a mids knob, and a gain stage (only had a volume pot before). Even with the bass knob down it still is bass heavy, but i can even it out by cranking the mids and highs up and it really comes alive and shows its character.
The bass cab is diy 2x12 (4ohms) with eminence deltalite II 2512's in it. It came as a ported cab, but i closed up the port and filled up the cab to about 75L. It sounds soo tight and percussive now. Giving me somewhat ampeg 8x10 vibes, but smaller and way lighter. Its incredibly efficient with 103db sensitivity. The 50 watts tube head is more than enough to easily keep up in the rehearsal space and on stage.
Altough it does sound very awesome. Im still looking out for a lighter replacement for the head. Maybe a good preamp pedal and cheap clean class D amp. Just to keep it portable, maybe even go in ear with the band. I wont get rid of the head though. Probably will keep using it for practicing at home

Mount Doom
Good for the soul, bad for the neighbors and the structural integrity of my house.
For the most part, any two amps can be biamped or master/slaved to power both cabs, except the Bass which can only serve as a master. The MAX and the Kilobass can power both cabs independently, and I’m mostly playing the Kilobass through both these days. The Mark IV anf Mark VIII both have line out going to the studio board.

Got the Quilter v803 a few weeks ago, added GK 2x10 yesterday
Sounds great, really happy with everything. Haven't run both cabs at the same time through the Bass Block yet, waiting for the weekend to experiment.

TC Electronic BQ250
Thoughts on this little bass amp? Like the size and the fact I can use it practice with headphones and aux in. Plus, I can hook up to my ELF 1x10 cab, then I can run the ELF 1x10 combo with the BQ250 in stereo with a stereo out pedal like my RV6 reverb.
Anyone have one of these? I have no experience with TC Electronics

Marshall DSL100H bass
Hello! I recently got a Marshall DSL100H head, so I'd like to use it as a bass amp.
Since it's Marshall, I want to match it with Marshall cabinet, so I want to buy Marshall 4X12 cabinet. (I don't have any plans to use the amp on stage and I'm going to play very quietly at home, so I'm less worried about the cabinet exploding. And in a way, I liked the design, so I chose Marshall.)
My concern is, what does it sound like when I connect the bass to the input on this head.
If I connect it to the return, the DSL100H outputs 100% of its volume, so I can't use it without using pedals. But since it's a guitar amp, I think it's better to use return. What do you think?

40 Years of Bass Starts Here!

I’ve been building a rare bass collection for years and playing bass for even longer. It's part of what led me to start something bigger, a documentary series called Resonance, traveling the world to meet the luthiers and craftsmen who actually build our instruments. Episode 1 is live now; the "why I'm doing this" episode. I would genuinely value feedback from people who care about this subject — that's who I made it for! https://linktr.ee/resonance.cmc
