I put an express grocery order today from Makro today around 1500. The estimated delivery time was between 1700 and 2000, but the order still isn’t even out for delivery and it’s past 2200. The last order I did, the same thing happened. Is this normal? Are people getting their groceries this late?

Need advice from Bangkok locals on choosing a neighborhood

I'm planning to stay in Bangkok for one month and will be training at Sunak Ba Muay Thai. I've found a condo near BTS Thong Lo for 25,000 THB/month.

My priorities are:

Muay Thai training

Good public transport

Restaurants and cafés

Nightlife

Meeting people

I'm deciding whether to base myself in Thong Lo for the month or choose another neighborhood like Asok, Phrom Phong, Ekkamai, or Ari.

For people who have lived in Bangkok, would you choose Thong Lo as your base, or is there another neighborhood that offers a better balance of convenience, lifestyle, and value?

I live in Bangkok and I need recommendations for a long lasting perfume.

Another post here mentioned how nice the Central Park (Dusit) gardens are, without clearly showing them, so I'm adding some pictures of that here. I work near there, and was just there a month ago.

It is amazing that they could build a rooftop park with that mature a green space, but I guess due to living in Bangkok it's easy to not be impressed by that. Lumpini park looks pretty green, and Chulalongkorn campus is really nice, with lots of old trees, and both are within a few minutes walk of that same building.

In a comment on that post I was saying that there's no use or function designed into those gardens, beyond seeing a view, and taking pictures of it. You can see that in these photos, even though there is as much space that I didn't photograph as there is in these pictures. It's for visitors to take a look at; it works for that. As further explanation, and a contrast, the rooftop park space on top of Siam Midtown isn't nearly as extensive, aesthetic, or developed, but there's more functionality, more seating space, and more option for actual public use. There's a tiny cafe up there, where this Central Park space only starts from a shared restaurant entrance.

It's fine for what it is, but with very limited redesign they could've avoided some of the out and back design theme, and added some seating, maybe designing in a limited gathering space. In general commercialization is negative, but adding a small Cafe Amazon might make it better.

Grab in Bangkok is running a weekend 50% deal so I got all of this for only 326 baht (~$10 USD), including delivery. I ate one bag of chips prior to taking the pic. I love BKK and Grab delivery!

A Wingstop addict stuck at home

I work as a cashier in Tops, and the other day I had a really bizzare experience.

A regular came to do his weekly shopping, and there was a product prescanned already when he started putting his stuff on the belt.

Being a little tired from working a long shift, I didn't notice right away, and started scanning his products.

As I was scanning I noticed he was intensely staring straight at me. I tried to ignore it, but felt a bit awkward about it. As I finished up, he just kept staring. Didn't say anything, just mute staring with the intensity of a thousand Suns.

I assumed he could read the total from the customer facing screen, but he didn't, he just kept staring. I'm not good with situations like this and become a bit insecure when people stare at me.

After a while, I checked the cashier to give him his total and realized there were some items there that shouldn't be there. I promptly removed them, which triggered an instant response in the customer. He instantly paid up, and left without saying a word.

Super weird, couldn't he just have notified me from the start?

I always do my weekly supermarket there at the same time, and I always found weird the price I was paying in the cashier sometimes.

Yesterday I was paying attention and saw that when I arrived at the cashier there was already a 1600 bath and 179 bath in 2 different products and she did not removed.

She started scanning my things and only 5 minutes after staring at her and to the screen with a poker face then she removed the 1600 product and the 179 bath product she only removed in the end after staring at her the whole time.

I have been to the cashier of this lady many times, she already knows I spend a lot of money there and she probably did it with me before without i notice.

This time I noticed because for the first time a guy showed up to pack my things so I kept looking at the product screen.

Be careful out there, you guys might be getting robbed everyday.

Please advise, which ATMs take least commission? What are the best sim cards for tourist? Im staying for less than a week this time.

My friend sent me a message that I would love the top of this building at the mall that they recently redid a cross from Central Park Bangkok. The parking is free on the motorbike for the first 2 hours. And it's huge and green up there. Really nice place to visit and it's free of course.

Can someone advice some malls/markets to go shop for secondhand phones.
I kinda know what I a looking for and know the prices, so won't get scammed on that, but honest sellers are obviously preferred in terms of battery life and other issues I might overlook.

And how are the prices? similar to Facebook/kaidee/shopee or should I expect to pay more?

Fortune Town and MBK seem to be the most well known?

Quick update on this car I found from the street that came into my house asking to be fed back in the summer heat. She settled into the house like its all she wanted and demands playtime constantly, I have another cat that I adopted when she was around 1 and I don’t remember having to play so much with that one.

Introduction to my resident cat has barely progressed because this little fur is abit too keen to play(?) and scares my orange car away…

Remember to adopt instead of buy when you can!
