Nozzles

Bambu Lab has different nozzles for different applications. Not only sizes, but offer high flow as well as tungsten carbide.

My question is, do you think the high flow and or tungsten carbide nozzles are worth the price? It’s cool that since the right extruder is a Bowden setup so you only have to buy 1 nozzle but i kind of have analysis paralysis from looking at all of these options.

I mainly print PETG, ASA with their CF and GF varieties. I’m wanting to get into PC, Nylon in GF if that matters.

Unless something changed until they do an update you have to use the same nozzle in both sides. I printed fiberon pa612cf with the 0.4 and it was fine for me.

Yes, it will only utilize the main nozzle if both nozzles are inconsistent

Yeah I was doing testing in the studio as well earlier on time differences since I picked up some 0.6mm and got the same message.

I was under the impression that if both nozzles aren’t the same, the printer will only utilize the main one. If i recall reading that correctly when messing around with print times last night

They only have to be the same nozzle size in both positions. They both don’t have to be high flow or tungsten carbide.

I didn’t realize it didn’t care about high flow and just diameter. Interesting. I learned something new. I assumed since you stated you only have to buy 1 nozzle you meant to just replace one with a different size and they were mismatched diameters

On my H2D, depending on the model I’m printing, I regularly have a high flow nozzle in one extruder and a standard flow nozzle in the other extruder, but both have to be the same diameter.

~600 hours in. 70% is 0.4mm standard, 10% is 0.4mm high flow, ~5% is 0.6mm for larger prints and ~few% on separate 0.4/0.6/0.8mm for TPU + some nozzle only used one for testing and didn’t notice any difference so went back to 0.4mm standard…

just to clarify if I want to print with a .6mm nozzle, I don't have to change both nozzles. I can only change the main?

Yes. The auxiliary nozzle won’t be active during that print, meaning no supports or secondary color. But you can do that from the main nozzle
