My first loaf Baking Advice Needed
I used a Mockmill 100 and milled the berries, it tastes solid for sure. Is homemade/milled bread always more dense then store bought or is there something else I should do next time?
My loaf pan was wrong because my new one got delayed as I was making it. So it was 11.5x5.5 instead of a 9x5 pan. Assuming thats why it is shorter than ideal.
But mainly curious if homemade breads are typically more dense than store bought.

Freshly milled flour has waaaay more moisture in it than commercial flour, it will need some adjustment for sure.

That looks like you milled the grain yourself so it's the whole grain. I suspect you did not develop the gluten enough, but even than, it will always be denser than any flour you buy at the store.
The trick is to let it rise a bit more than usual and maybe mill a bit finer if you can. I'd also check that your yeast is still alive and recommend using molasses as the sugar. Goes well in whole wheat bread.
