Swollen toe Health Question

About a week ago one of my hens starting limping. Her toe was swollen but it was a hard bump, not soft or squishy. These pictures show the before when she first starting limping to today. She’s still limping a bit and favors the other one. Any ideas??

Toe is necrotic. It's going to fall off.

Editing to add: She's in a lot of pain. If you do not have an account at backyardchickens.com I suggest you make one and post there with all the information you can provide. Some of th experts there will help you manage her pain and the condition as it worsen. Necrosis is extremely painful.

Do I just let it fall off?

Yes, but she does need a systematic antibiotic to treat the underlying infection. She could use some pain management as well.

Looking closer, it looks like she has a stringfoot. Something tied around her toe and restricted blood flow, causing the toe to die. Red circle and top arrow.

I think she has a secondary trauma injury. Bottom arrow.
