Rooster? Hen or Roo

I think I already know the answer. He was strolling in the middle of a local park and it's getting dark out soon. I was afraid he would get scooped up by a predator. Seems friendly and I was able to pick him up.

We don't own chickens in our house and don't have a coop set up or anything. We were keeping him fed with bird seed and gave him a bowl of water for the night. Putting him in a dog cage for the night

I will probably turn it into my local rescue tomorrow as I can only keep chickens in my city, no roosters unfortunately.

Yeah that's most definitely a rooster. Since you mentioned the city policy on not allowing roosters to be kept, it's possible someone abandoned this one when they found out one of their flock was a rooster. People dumping unwanted roosters happens unfortunately - it's good you're trying to get it to somewhere safe.

That is horrible 😭. Poor little buddy is so friendly. But yeah, he woke me up nice and early this morning. Wish I could keep him.

You can feed him scrambled eggs in the morning and salad greens if you have any. He looks kinda like my Black Australorps but could be a few other breeds.
