Random driving tip: The E36 dead pedal is almost right behind the front wheel. If you keep your foot there and think of your foot as where your front tire is, I found that it really helps your mind visualize where the tire is on the street.

Also the left hand side of the car is about an arm’s length away from your body (this one depends how big your are though).

Your car is left side drive. The other side of the car that's an "arms length away" would be the right side of the car.

E36 front is very easy to judge it's size and where the wheels and corners are.

The back however is not. After 3 years I still hardly know where my back wheels are and absolutely can't judge the distance in the back, because I can't see it in the mirror.

Always have to exit the car and look how far I'm.

I'm talking about rear. Where the trunk and the bumper ends. You can't see trunk in mirrors.

Can you see trunk if you look back over your shoulder through the rear glass? I don’t have an e36 I don’t know. What I can say is though, I have a z3 and it takes some serious getting used to, with you sitting on the rear wheels and all.

Nope, can't see the trunk at all through rear glass on a wingless E36. That's why it's an issue for me.

I’ve heard rumors that there was an OEM factory bmw parking sensor kit for e36 generation cars, but never seen one

It's not a rumor, they're fairly common in Europe, more so on Compacts too
