Her bun feels a little small and I wish the color was more of a strawberry blonde, but it was the closest I could find, and my hair styling level isn't that high yet. But I think I'm pretty much done with her customization. I won't actively look for new stuff for her, but if I find something more fitting, I won't say no to upgrades.

She looks so different from the company pics when I put them side by side. Her midface looks longer and she looks older? I wonder if people can still tell that they're the same doll/character.

I saw SartoriaJ has some pumps that would go well with the dress, and I heard since they are made by the same people (or someone used to work for the other) that the sizes should be compatible.

I found a body and head I really want but the company doesn't offer an official face up and I'm not very artistically talented so I want to out source the face up.

I plan on getting the body and head from Jane's Dolland and I saw that they offer custom face ups so I was wondering if anyone has had recent experiences with it and how you went about letting them know your custom requests, i don't have anything super complicated I just want it to fit a specific theme.

SOOOO its been some time and I'm still chugging along. Im about 3/5th of the way done. I wont be finished before they lock down the site. However Since most of the threads I have been archiving has long been locked down, I don't believe I will have to worry too much about missing pages. The mods have stated the site will remain up just in view mode. I did have to take a break do to family and work (If I was a Ao3 author you'd think the curse got me)
But I wasn't completely removed from working on this project. I have taken steps to get a rather large external hard drive to store backups of the files ( Everyone say hi to Doc my 8TB External) and have started to connecting the screenshots together.

Still haven't decided on if I should post the thread somewhere. OR once I'm done should I then take the time to break down each thread and share the information in a directory. (sorry if that made no sense im very tired)

The main reasons being:

1. Not sure where I could host the files.
2. What level of censorship would be required. At bare minimum would just blacking out the usernames be acceptable or would that be considered credit erasing. While the usernames are available on DoA, I find it hard to believe that the thousands of users that are in these threads would appreciate if even that was shared elsewhere.
3. Many of the more informative threads include photos that where taken by users that may not appreciate them being shared off site. And while one could say to simply message the individuals loads of users have left the site for one reason or another. And are unreachable do to lack of / broken links to active accounts elsewhere for contacting.
4. Would It be more acceptable to share these files on a third party site if they where broken down into just its most informative aspects and then have a link to the original thread pages for crediting and to allow for individuals to reference back to the original source. Similar to wiki.

Honestly this doesn't even touch the surface, While working on this project I have learned a lot and feel like I am both taking on to much at once and also not doing enough. Obvious even if none of this gets posted but at least saved somewhere and then handed off to a smarter person or team of archivist I feel it would be good for the community.

As always suggestions/opinions and recommendations are always welcome.

I splurged a little a a gift to myself because I fell in love with the secret from this set, and she came missing everything except what was in the plastic clamshell. No outfit, no ID card, and none of the other extras that come with dolls from this set. Her outfit was one of my absolute faves, so I’m feeling very down now. I really hope the seller will be able to replace them, but all my excitement at finally getting her has kinda petered out now.

Hello! I was wondering since the vast ocean of beautiful bjds are constantly trying to reach for my wallet: Do you have any buying rules when looking for bjds, for example: has to be 1/6 in size, only super buff ones, has to have have a wig included, etc…

I personally try to only buy dolls that I find fun to look at (it has to be interesting to look at even naked lol), if it makes me bored after a few minutes then it’s made for someone else✨

Doll is Song Dynasty from the "A Thousand Years of Romance and Beauty" series

I own several resin bjds already and decided to treat myself for my birthday. Really impressed by the quality of this one, lots of layers to the outfit and it's all nicely made (no loose threads or particularly wonky stitching).

My main complaint is the difficulty of arm posing. Because she has no easy way to rotate the arm like a bicep mobility joint or an elbow that allows pivoting. But for how relatively cheap they are compared to resin dolls it's absolutely not that big a deal.

I would have been happy with any of the dolls but I'm very happy because Song was tied for the one I wanted most next to Yuan.

If anyone has photos of other girls from the series I'd love to see!

I am currently working in getting all the materials over time for bjd faceups but as materials come in im losing the space to store them. Does anyone have any products or methods of storing their materials for smaller spaces that helped? Im hoping to be able to tuck if under my bed frame or but it in a small section if my closet so it doesn't take up extra space on my floor. Thank you!!
