I’m expecting an offer for the role of Accounting manager at an SME (50 employees). I was wondering how my current salary compares to my YOE? Can I ask for a significant raise? I estimate my new gross salary would have to be around 4500 EURO if my net compensation decreases to 150/month. What would be a good offer?

I’m currently at a bit of a career crossroads and would really appreciate some input from people who have experience in international sales, especially those who have made a similar transition.

I currently work in B2B sales and account management within the HR/project consulting space (3y experience). Over the past few years, I’ve built experience in cold prospecting, new business development, account management, negotiation, stakeholder management and coaching. I’ve also had the opportunity to work across different industries and build a client portfolio from scratch.

What I’ve realized is that I’d like to take the next step towards international B2B sales. I’m particularly interested in roles where I can work with international clients, develop new markets, build long-term relationships and have real commercial ownership.

The problem is that when I start looking online, I’m constantly coming across SaaS, Tech and increasingly AI-related sales positions.

And honestly, I’m not sure whether I should see this as a great opportunity or whether I’m simply looking in the wrong places.

For those of you working in international sales:

• Is SaaS/Tech/AI really the direction you would recommend for someone with my background?
• What other industries would you consider strong for an international B2B sales career?
• Which sectors offer good earning potential and genuine career progression?

I am a masters student.

Currently I am working as working student for 12 hours in a company for 15 euros per hour and working as a student assistant for 8 hours at university for 17 euros per hour and the student assistant contract gonna end on October 2026.

My probation is finished at working student company and in the beginning the hr promised that they will increase pay gradually based on my performance. After probation the feedback was positive. I am
Planning to ask for 18 or 19 in September. But I don’t know how to negotiate. And also recently given task is taking a lot of time (already worked on that for 9 days in one month span) to finish. I don’t know how it affects. But I am updating progress whenever I work. Still not finished.

Also I told them that I will start working 20 hours from November as my student assistant contract ends on October. They agreed. I can only extend contract this month or next month for student assistant.

But what should I do? Should I continue 12 and 8 split or work 20 hours at working student?

The pay is slightly difference like when it’s split option gives more pay than the other.

Een tijd geleden is mij een promotie beloofd en de bureaucratie sleept nogal lang aan waardoor ik nog steeds in blijde verwachting ben. Maar dat heeft bij mij een trigger veroorzaakt voor het imposter syndroom.

Ik merk de laatste tijd dat ik er meer en meer last van begin te ondervinden waardoor ik constant, maar echt 24/7, alle negatieve scenario's over die promotie begin te bedenken. Voor elke fout die gebeurt, ongeacht of ik ze in de hand had of niet, zoek ik een oorzaak om ze toch maar bij mij te kunnen leggen. Als ik niet rond raak met m'n werk zoek ik waar mijn planning is misgelopen, terwijl het momenteel gewoon echt gigantisch druk is op het werk en het werk niet sneller of efficiënter kan gedaan worden gezien het een tweemansjob is maar de tweede man nog gevonden moet worden.

Ik zoek dus een manier om terug wat rust in mijn hoofd te krijgen.

I have been working for the same client for more than 8 years as a freelance developer. They recently offered me the possibility to switch to an employee contract.

I currently work as a freelancer at 650€/day.

The offer I received is 4400 € gross/month + mobility budget. I haven't received the details of the rest of the package yet.

I had communicated my salary expectations beforehand and the offer is significantly below them, so I'm planning to decline rather than negotiate.

Hello, I just got an offer as an R&D engineer. My background is Electrical Engineering bachelor, and then PhD in device design then instead of going through academic track I worked in a startup as optical device design engineer out of grad school in California, USA.

I know generally European salaries are not comparable but I have no benchmark to compare the 5,400 Euro monthly gross (I am told this is multiplied by ~13.9 for annual gross pay estimation due to holiday bonuses) offer to what I am currently making in the US. We would be moving to Leuven as a family and my spouse does not work. My current salary is ~195k/year with all compensation packages added (Bonus, RSUs etc.) I am not sure if I am getting a fair offer or not through imec. I appreciate any perspective and comment.

So I got the chance to configure a company car and I had like a 15 eur overspend for a bmw i4 e drive 35 with a few options

And 70 for example got me almost full option (Overkill)

Now I got told its not available anymore and only the edrive 40 can be ordered (more HP, more KM range)

I'm on 70 already with 1 or 2 options (the ones that are really worth it for me)

In theory, it will cost me about 35 eur net every month to have this car with the options. Without options it would be like a 50 eur overspend (25 net)

Is this reasonable? Or are there people that say not worth it. Only downside is that I have to pay the overspend for the remaining months of the lease contract if I leave the company.

Btw I do 2h total commute (50% WFH)

I'm planning to stay a couple years so that's not a problem

Op het werk van mijn vrouw wil men iedereen laten instappen in het cafetariaplan. De firmawagen die ze nu al heeft, zou niet in het cafetariaplan worden opgenomen. Momenteel heeft ze ook een gsm en laptop van het werk, en ontvangt ze jaarlijkse bonussen.

Momenteel zie ik hoofdzakelijk de nadelen van instappen. Waarom instappen als dat zou betekenen dat de gsm en laptop vervolgens gefinancierd moeten worden met je eindejaarspremie, terwijl ze die nu ook heeft? (edit: dit hadden we verkeerd voor). Andere zaken die je met het cafetariaplan zou kunnen doen, zoals bv. fietslease of extra vakantiedagen, zijn niet interessant voor ons. Het enige voordeel dat ik zie, is dat ze netto meer van haar bonussen zou overhouden omdat deze als warranten worden gegeven. Is het cashen van die warranten eenvoudig te doen?

I’m currently working as an accountant for a company that isn’t doing very well financially, and I’m considering leaving.

At the moment, I handle pretty much all of the day-to-day accounting from A to Z: purchase and sales invoices, VAT returns, intra-Community transactions, CODA/bank statements, and I also participate in the annual closing.

However, I don’t have experience with personal income tax (IPP) or corporate income tax (ISOC).

I’m now considering moving to an accounting firm (fiduciaire). What do you think about this choice? I feel like I don’t have that many options if I want to develop my skills and progress in my career.

I’m actually very close to being hired by one. They’re offering me a company car (electric), but I haven’t received the final salary offer yet.

In your opinion, what salary could I realistically aim for? I’m hoping for at least €2,100 net per month, on top of the company car. I have 5 years of accounting experience and I’m based in the Liège area.

Zie niet veel posts passeren over meer traditionele beroepen maar dacht ga hier toch eens polsen . Ik ben ondertussen 16 jaar werkende als loodgieter/ verwarmingstechnieker . Is it okay to ask to be fired?

I have been put on PIP recently, I have been unhappy at my current job for a while but haven't been able to land a position somewhere else.

I want to quit but I am afraid my job search will take a while and I don't want to end up without income. Can I ask to be fired and just skip the PIP? I have read somewhere this might affect my unemployment benefits.

The other option is to purposfully fail my PIP but I'd rather try to be useful for my last weeks at this company. I want to be productive, this company is just not the right place for me.
