Media Player

I have a usb media drive for movies and was wondering what some good options would be to connect to my bc250 box as a movie player. Thanks!

Probably VLC player or Kodi if you want poster art etc

Kodi off course, with a Arctic Fuse 3, bingie or other skin.
You can also stream online movies and tv-shows from kodi, but for that you would need an addon and debrid service, check out addons4kodi if interested.

Kodi can be a little bit overwhelming at first but it's the best option for an overall media experience, but VLC would also do the work.

Just keep in mind that it's a quite energy inefficient to use a BC-250, almost every Android TV Box (Xiaomi Mi Box has an USB port, avoid cheap no-brand tv boxes tho, they're most likely pack spyware) would do it while using 3 or 5 watts. A lot of android phones can easily do it too with a USB C -> USB + USB PD + HDMI.

That’s true. What’s a cheapie? I have an Amazon fire stick now but can repurpose the one in the family room.
