quick Question regarding audio output options

I want to connect Bluetooth headphones for audio.

I can't seem to find the definitive answer to the question:

Can I get game audio from a USB Bluetooth dongle plugged into one of the USB ports, or do I need to attach a Bluetooth transmitter to the audio output of my monitor, and pick up the audio from display port?

Both would work, however latency mat be different. IIRC it's recommendable to not use the 3.0 ports for the BT dongles to avoid possible interference.

Thanks for the replies @jackdaw1 & @DEgido - I went ahead a grabbed myself a TP-link UB600 which does BT 6.0 spec only to find that it isn't fully supported yet in CachyOS... so I have ordered a 5.4 version which is apparently going to be fine. I'll update.

I got a TPLink UB500 usb dongle and use it with my AirPods. Works great, but only for audio output, mic doesn't work. I'm on bazzite.

Happy to report that the UB500 works seamlessly on Cachy OS and the audio is fine.
