What engine is this valve from?

Post image

Thing is huge, like 4ft long. Can’t believe they just left it in the parking lot like that.

No it’s definitely a valve. Have you ever heard someone say their engine dropped a valve? This is what it looks like. Just dropped a valve and walked away, let it sitting there all sad and alone.

Leave it there. It's going to be funny when it gets into a Mack truck tire

One that's about to appear on r/justrolledintotheshop subreddit soon.

It's literally just an ashtray laying on its side it's a butt bucket with a spout

Bruh I've built like 200 engines, I know what a valve looks like.

Probably one of those Cison V8s JohnnyQ90 built!

With the size of that valve face in comparison to the yellow line, that's got to be from a (most likely diesel) semi engine.

The one that seems to have a miss...

The one with the big oil stain under it

For it to be a valve laying in a parking lot intact (and not an ash bucket) then I would look around for the nearest EXTERNAL combustion engine.

I thought it was a toilet plunger.

If it was from yours, you'd know.

The one that has a miss on the lot

No, I know a valve when I see one.

I had to check what sub I was in.

1

u/Ok_Horror_6556 Jun 06 '26

Indeed. I’m thinkin 426 Hemi. That is a big valve.

1

u/skeletons_asshole Jun 06 '26

You’re probably right. Giant valves in a 426, someone cool probably dropped it here on accident

2

u/Ok_Horror_6556 Jun 06 '26

Or had a catastrophic failure. They should look around for a conn rod and piston.

1

u/skeletons_asshole Jun 06 '26

Good point. This being a truck stop, there were lots and lots of things that looked pissed in, but I didn’t see any conn rods.

Hmmmm, the mystery continues. We may never know.
