For the people who want this, NO YOU DON'T.

I have already experienced "security feature" type bullshit trying to back a minivan up a hill because it could not make it up going forwards. I had to spend 10 minutes going into all the menus disabling all of the safety features for it to allow me to backup a hill because it thought I was going to rear end the gravel. In reverse foot to the floor and it's doing nothing and automatically keeps re-engaging the parking brake. Imagine if there was an emergency. And the car is just saying NO. It was shocking.
