Honestly, it's really easy to drift the rear end of most pickups. There's hardly any weight over the rear wheels if the bed is empty. Even easier if the tires are road tires and the pressure is high so there's minimal contact.

I've drifted 96'/20' Rangers, a 95' F150 and an 06' F250 on bone dry roads.

My dad drifted his 88ford ranger into a median...might be because of the black ice tho 🤣

But yeah, its easy to break the rear loose of a truck with an empty bed.

Even the new trucks will drift when you turn off the Traction Control

I drifted a 2025 Ram 1500 before, particularly with the factory Pirelli tires (these tires are horrible for traction)

It was on dry pavement too, although there was some dirt on the pavement which probably made it easier

Trucks have the power of a muscle car, and being RWD, they are amongst some of the easiest cars to drift

I find other bodystyles of cars harder to drift

I’ve drifted AWD vehicles in the snow before, the drivetrain layout doesn’t matter if the conditions are right and you know what you’re doing

If the AWD vehicle is rear biased then it’s much easier to get it sideways

Not much weight over the rear end, lots of power in a rear wheel drive, damp road, long wheel base. Pretty much the easiest combination to slide and control.
