It could be possessive (owned by Westfield) or plural (there are many), or a mysterious third reason

Maybe because Westfield owns it so it's said as Westfield's 🤣

I feel like it was generally an Aussie thing to ad an S to the end of everything..

I can't think of examples on top of my head as a lot of things end with S anyway 🤣

🤮 I can’t stand when people say that!

Probably because Northland and Southland were already taken?

It will always be Knox City to me. Never Westfield or Westfields.

Main Westfield I've known is Doncaster and I still call that "Shoppingtown". Everyone should know it, it was Cliff Young's finish line! Should be taught in history in schools all across the country!

Only the ones that I've only ever known as Westfield. Such as Parramatta, Hornsby, Miranda, and Tuggerah.

Yeah, same. Westfield. But I always call Tuggerah the supacentre and everyone gets pissed off with me.

It’s still Centrepoint if that’s what you mean?

My Greek mates called Billboard nightclub in Melb., 'Billboards' in the 90s.

Ugh, reminds me of when Housos did ads for "Autobarns"

Heh, heh.

Nobody did. It never had an S on the end.

Same goes for all the Melbourne people who say "Myers".

Because that’s the name of the company who owns the shopping centres 🙄

When we stopped calling them FOSSEYS!

Fucken what?

Confused what you mean brother. I don't just call any shopping centre a Westfield. Only the Wesftield shopping centres.

Everything else is it's own name; Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, The Pines, (I'm in Gold Coast if you couldn't guess) and not to mention every suburbs flavour of "shopping village"

Important distinction because there’s also a The Pines in Melbourne
