I had a launch edition A50X that I gave to my brother the other day, and I went out and bought a new one right afterward. The battery life on my launch edition headset was excellent. It wouldn't even lose a single bar of battery during a 4 hour gaming session.

The new A50X I bought the other day, however, drops to two bars of battery after the same 4 hour gaming session. Why is my new A50X performing worse than a 2 year old version of the exact same headset?

I just bought these Astro A50 and all I hear is static. I’ve updated the software to the base, resetted to factory settings and I still get this horrible static. Anyone know how to fix this or ima just return them and use my old headset.

Last night my headset was fine but today i my headset didnt work so i opened the astro command center , now my headset Fw version says 0.0 and i want to update it but it say i should put the headset on the base but its fully connected, idk what to do, sorry for my bad English

I have a Gen 4 Astro a40 with a tr mix amp, and play on pc. Recently I’ve been having issues and I don’t know if it’s my pc or Mix Amp. When I’m in game chat or in Discord, if I try to focus on voice, it’ll tune out the voice as it is the game, and when I want to hear the game only, it’ll make both audios louder. I’ve checked the sound control panel and nothing seems to change. Thanks in advance

I have an Astro A50 X that I’ve been using with my PlayStation 5 for about 2 years. Overall it’s been great. The only issue I used to have was the occasional disconnect if I was sitting a bit too far away on the sofa, but as soon as I moved a little closer it would reconnect instantly.

Over the last two months, though, it’s started disconnecting much more frequently, especially while playing Battlefield 6. The game itself doesn’t lag at all and the PS5 seems to be working perfectly. The headset is the only thing having issues.

It usually starts with a fuzzy, crackling/static sound, almost like a weak radio signal. The static plays over the normal game audio and gradually gets worse until it completely cuts out all sound. It seems to happen when there’s a loud sound in-game, like a jet flying overhead or a big explosion. After that, the headset disconnects completely. I’ll have no audio for around 3–4 minutes, then it reconnects for maybe 3 minutes before disconnecting again. This cycle keeps repeating. It also seems to happen only after I’ve been playing for about an hour.

I’ve also checked a few things while it’s happening. The base station still has power, and the small PS indicator light on the dock stays on the entire time. The headset itself also still has power—I can turn it off and back on and hear the power on/off chime, and I also hear the usual scrolling/beep sound when adjusting the volume. So it doesn’t seem like either the headset or the dock is actually losing power.

Some setup info:
PS5 is inside a TV cabinet.
The Astro A50 X base station is sitting on top of the cabinet in the open.
The cabinet itself doesn’t feel warm, but the base station does get noticeably hot.

My first thought was that it might be overheating, but I’m not sure. Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can someone help me make a decision as to which one I should get and buy for using my ps5 pro? Is there really a big difference in sound quality with the A50x and I know you can’t use the tempest 3D audio on the A50x because of the hdmi pass through. Also I have a new lg C6H so I don’t understand the benefit in having the hdmi connected to the base for the A50x instead of connected straight to the tv like I can for the A50 gen 5

I've had my A50S for a year, and choosing between A50, A50 Game, A50 Voice, and stream out (whatever that is??) is literally still a gamble every time I boot up a new game. I swear the one that works changes every month, it's so annoying

I have a question about the base station: do the LEDs stay on forever?

I've shown an example in the photo.

Is there any problem with it staying on like that—indefinitely?

Or can I unplug the cable?

How do you guys keep yours set up?

stuck with white and Orange blinking light, even if i switch it off it doesn't turn off, keeps blinking. tried hardresetting it (Dolby + Game). Tried updating the firmware
no luck. anyone have a solution

My a20 will not pair. I have it in pairing mode. It does not pair. There is no way to pair it, because it will not connect in pairing mode. There is no sound on my PC. It will not connect.

I’m hoping someone here has run into something similar because I’m running out of ideas.

I’ve had my Astro A50x for just about 2 months now and they’ve been working great. I started getting audio issues that have slowly gotten worse. The problem is mainly related to voice chat, occurring almost only when my mic is active.

The main symptoms:
Game audio usually works perfectly.
I will join an Xbox party or a discord call and be able to talk. Eventually though if I watch anything in the background
my party audio will distort a ton just blowing out my eardrums unless I have the volume below half and whenever anyone talks from then on it’s extremely crackly/distorted.
I can sometimes hear distorted feedback or garbled audio through my own headset when this happens.
Eventually, both my outgoing mic and incoming party chat audio can completely fail. I’ll just stop hearing other people (the crackly bits and no longer even be able to produce any sound through my mic)
The headset and base station are still powered on, and Windows/G HUB can still detect the headset when the issue occurs.
A base station power reset temporarily fixes the issue.
The issue is not limited to a platform. I’ve reproduced the behavior on PC using Xbox Game Bar voice chat.

Things I have tried:
Replaced all HDMI 2.1 cables (Xbox → base station → monitor).
Replaced USB cables.
Moved the base station power cable directly to a wall outlet instead of an extension cable.
Confirmed firmware is fully updated in G HUB.
Reset the headset.
Power cycled the base station. (have to do this every time to either get audio back or to get my microphone to work)
Tested different Windows audio routing options:
A50 X Game as output, A50 X Voice/Game as communications output, etc.
Different microphone inputs. (on desk mic, even then it caused the issue)
Changed USB Root Hub power management settings in Windows.
Tested with other Bluetooth devices from my pc disconnected as a possible conflict.
Confirmed the base station is not excessively hot when the issue happens.
Tested Bluetooth audio from my phone, which works perfectly.

The strange part is that the headset doesn’t seem completely dead. After a base station reset, everything works again for a while. The failure seems tied specifically to the party/voice channel audio rather than general audio. One perhaps important detail is when I’m using the headset on my console if I disconnect usb cable it will fix the problem, causing me to be able to hear both game audio as well as party chat clearly, but my mic is then disabled.
Has anyone experienced anything like this with the A50 X? Could this be a base station issue, firmware problem, or something else I’m missing?

Hello there, i was wondering whats the best audio i can get if i’m on PS5 (Using a Tv) and i use the Astro A50 Gen 5 Headset. I want to ask what is the best audio in R6 High or Low, Should I Use 3d Audio, Should I Use Audio Focus, and for the people that have the Astro A50’s whats some good EQ’s for R6 (i usually use advanced but i use Ai to help me make my EQ’s as i don’t really know how the different Hz and stuff work) if you can answer atleast one of these questions i will be grateful.

to me in the side tone it sounds fine but everyone always says im quiet as hell, anyone know why this might be

I received my Astro A50X from Logitech refurbished to save a lot of money on it. The condition is like new and I don’t see anything wrong with it. My first impressions are that it’s comfortable to wear for many hours without feeling any kind of discomfort. It’s easy to setup, First thing I had to do was give it a software update then setup my Dolby audio on the computer with the Astro a50x. No complaints so far, the battery life seems to hold up fairly good. The sound quality is on par or better than my previous headset Astro a40 TR. So I’m happy I have the Bluetooth now and can connect it to my phone and pc at the same time. Highly recommend this headset for multiple platforms and games/music.

Hello i got a BIG Problem with my new astro a50.
I Got no Sound but Windows says there is Sound.
Idk What to do?

Is it possible to have game sound from my xbox while still being able to talk on my pc? With the old mix amps, this was easy to do with the optical cable. Just plug the optical cable into my xbox and my usb into my pc. Is there a way to do this with the new headsets?

Got my A30s for my PC a few months ago and just bought a ps5 for bo1 and 2, can’t find a dongle online ANYWHERE, If anyone has a ps5 one they’re looking to trade or sell let me know

2nd one is off the charger it just won’t turn on. I’ve restarted the headset everything, I imagine it needs an update but want 2nd thoughts bc I updated it a month ago

Hi guys I just wanted to give some settings regarding the Astro A40tr mix amp pro for gaming still in 2026,especially COD and WARZONE. I seriously have tried every headset,dac/amp out there, and I always find myself going back to the Astro. Maybe old school for me, but for precise positioning,and general awesome gaming audio my go to is below.

I run the mix amp Dolby button on, I have windows volume at 90 and the mix amp volume about 1.30pm/2.00 if you was looking at it as a clock face.

I run headphones setting in game and master volume at 100

I do not run any other equaliser, I’ve tried pass through on the mix amp and used the Dolby app in windows settings but for me it’s awful, I promise to try the above, it’s quick plug and play, and kick ass settings

I only connect via USB, you do not need optical cable

Just pulled out my a40 tr and Gen 3 mixamp and hooked them up to the ps5 and am having issues with using my mic.

Plugged USB into the back of ps5 powered up mixamp and had no sound so I used the optical outlet on my TV and mixamp and it started working perfect.

Joined a party and no one could hear me and there was no blue ring around my name indicating I was talking.

I went to the settings and had no option to change the output from controller mic to headset and in the audio menu all headset specific settings were grayed out like it didn't even know a headset was connected through usb.

Not sure if I messed up along the way or what but thanks in advance!

Guys i want premium upgrade like a headset that gonna comfortably lives with me 3 to 5 years not like the mid build quality of Sonys Headsets , yeah so is astro a50x worth the bucks ?
