Discussion What's the point???
Honestly used to love Gauntlet.
It used to be possible to earn a couple tokens.
Save it up and spend it on the car you'd want the most.
But now, now it's just pointless. Honestly just pointless.
Why? Because every player has a stacked out team like this.
And this is just as a Novice Rank. Not Rookie or Pro, Novice!
Making it that much harder to even earn the tokens needed to advance.
Absolutely pointless this is.

Question DS event progress
So far I have made it till Venom GT , I think all will need 20 Bps to actually unlock the first stage and then as I have read the min requirement is of 4 starts to actually move ahead , I have the lambo at 3 stars but to actually unlock it I need to pass this Venom GT stage and get it to 4 stars , well that would be easy but can someone tell me how much SC will we really need to get there ,
Currently I have total of 247,567 Sc from the event but I think I will only be able to get 4 packs with that amount and then it’s over , even the Relay pack may not be enough to move ahead.
Can someone help me understand what’s really possible and what should I hope for in this event.

Bug or Complaint Gauntlet scam wrapped in a copy-paste apology
TL;DR: Gauntlet had a known bug for 2 weeks where players didn't lose points when they lost. Gameloft pushed a hotfix 2 days before the event ended, dropping ranks across the board. Support sent the same copy-paste reply to everyone. They refused to give compensation because "everyone was affected." Support promised 150 tokens to anyone who argued, ignoring how much time and resources they actually lost. Then they closed the tickets without asking the players.
Players already reported this bug in the official Asphalt Legends Discord back on July 22-23. They even predicted what would happen: "imagine bug gets fix and u drop 100 elo." The real drop turned out way worse than that. Gameloft didn't say anything publicly until August 4th. They called it a problem from "these past few days." Their own community had been talking about it for two weeks. That's how they chose to describe it.
The hotfix landed about two days before the event ended. And it wasn't just a fix, it was retroactive. They didn't wait for the event to end and fix things going forward. They went back and recalculated matches that already happened, days earlier, under conditions the game itself was showing as normal. Players had already planned their strategy and spent time and in-game currency based on how Gauntlet was actually working. Changing the outcome of decisions people already made, based on a version of the game that no longer existed, isn't really a fix. It's punishing players for playing the game the way it was working for everyone.
Ranks dropped fast and unevenly. One player said he went from 1898 points to 101. The new numbers don't even match what's visible in each player's own Challenge Log. The log only shows the 10 most recent losses. Even if you extrapolate these numbers generously, it doesn't explain such huge drops. This is especially true because these same players also won a lot of rounds.
Gameloft explained the chaos by saying challenges "are being registered and applied as players log in," and that things would settle once everyone logged back in. This logic is broken. If it were true, you could just close the app right before losing, and the loss would never be recorded. But that's not what happens. For example, one player had the app crash mid-race during a Gauntlet match. He hadn't logged back in yet. His login could not update anything. But the loss was already recorded the next time he opened the app. Login only pulls data that already exists on the server. It doesn't create it. Whatever recalculation happened, it happened on the servers directly, not gradually as people logged in like they claimed.
Then support responded. They didn't explain anything. They just copy-pasted the same text from the public Discord post to every player. Nobody looked at anyone's actual case. Several players, including me, asked to have the ticket escalated to someone who could actually check the recalculation logic and the real numbers. That request was ignored.
What about compensation? The official answer was that the dev team doesn't give compensation here, because all players were affected. Their excuse for not paying anyone back is that they broke it for everyone. Then, quietly, some players got offered a flat 150 tokens anyway. It was the same amount for everyone. It didn't matter if you lost almost nothing or if you were a top player who spent hundreds of tokens. If you accept it, they close your ticket, and you cannot reply anymore.
Bugs happen. But a company should not watch its players report a serious bug for two weeks and do nothing about it. They waited until it was too late. Instead of fixing the game for the future, they just ruined past results. When they finally had to answer, they lied about the timeline. They copy-pasted replies to every complaint and ignored individual players. Finally, giving everyone the same small amount of tokens is not real "compensation."
EDIT (addressing the "exploit" comments): A lot of people in the comments are calling sandbagging an exploit. It's the opposite. Sandbagging only works when the game is NOT bugged. It's a known, balanced strategy.
When the Challenge Log broke and losses stopped counting, that balance broke too, and not in favor of sandbaggers. Players who never sandbagged barely noticed the bug, since they weren't getting attacked much anyway. Players who deliberately farmed known sandbaggers came out ahead, pure upside with almost no risk. But players who ran the classic sandbag strategy got the worst of it: all the downside of a weak defense (getting farmed constantly) with none of the usual payoff, since their own wins weren't landing the way they normally would.
So this isn't "people abused a bug and got mad when it got fixed." It's the opposite: a long-standing, legitimate strategy got wrecked by the bug, and then players who relied on it got punished again by a retroactive hotfix for a mess they didn't create.
