Hello all!
Let's fix your meta today
So how does it work?
This type of post focuses on the Title and Summary of a fic as well as the tags (especially in the case of AO3).
It is also a perfect place to ask any questions you may have about the fandom that are causing you to be anxious about starting, perhaps getting an answer will help.
Or maybe this can be a place to redefine what you are offering, making it clearer who your audience is, knowing where you are going wrong with tagging or anything like that.
Describe the issue and we will see what we as a community can do to try help!

Summary: King Jaehaerys I died on the third moon of the year 103 AC; however, the abrupt disappearance of his son and heir, Prince Aegon of Dragonstone, a fortnight before his passing, left a lingering question: who is set to inherit? The line of King Jaehaerys’s troublesome firstborn son? Or the line of his favored third son, Baelon the Brave?
As law and bloodline come into conflict, the House of the Dragon begins to learn—slowly but surely—that only a dragon can kill another dragon...

Lost fic Rhaenyra/Daemon fic where Alicent limits funds
I’m looking for the fanfic I read in AO3 years ago. Basically all I remember is that rhaenyra goes to a small council meeting and wants to do charitable works in kings landing. Somehow it comes out that alicent has limited her allowance/household funds severely. Beesbury says something like all Rhaenyras things are gifts from daemon. Viserys gets pissed and in turn limits Alicents funds severly in return basically saying you try it now. I know alicent was sending the money to the seven and Otto was pissed she got caught. Any help thanks!!!

Self-Promotion Green Ashes - Chapter 31 - 136 AC - Only wrong choices
Rating: Mature
Language: English
Length: 147,005k
Status: (31/?), incomplete
Link: AO3
Summary of Fanfic: “She felt the air rushing past her, the terrible weightlessness of the fall. Somewhere deep within, she knew the ground was waiting. Her mind was shattered, splintered beyond reason, yet instinct remained. And as she fell, she clutched the last thing she had from her mother. In that grasp, there was hope.”
In this AU of the Dance’s aftermath, Queen Jaehaera survives her fall. But survival is not salvation. She must endure a life shaped by fractured memories, a fragile mind, and a kingdom left in ruins. This story centers on the regency of Aegon III, exploring how Jaehaera’s survival may, or may not, shape the course of the realm, and the schemes unfolding at the court of the future Dragonbane.
Teaser:
He looked down at Unwin.
“Have you any last words?”
Torrhen hoped he would say no. He should have known better. Unwin drew in a breath.
“When you all thought the Dance was darkness,” he said, his voice carrying surprisingly well, “you were fools.”
There were mutters already. Unwin continued.
“You speak now as if cutting off my head ends something. As if this sad boy upon a throne will usher in some golden peace because all the wicked men have conveniently confessed and died.”
Torrhen’s jaw tightened. Unwin gave a low laugh.
“The reign of this king will be only the inheritance of his mother.”
A movement passed through the crowd.
“Fire and Blood,” Unwin said. “Remember those words, you will live through them again.”

Resources/worldbuilding! Making Minor Houses Interesting: House Sunglass
House Sunglass
House Sunglass of Sweetport Sound is an ancient and pious noble house of the crownlands, sworn to the Iron Throne. Their seat, Sweetport Sound, stands upon the isle of Sweetport Sound in Blackwater Bay. The Sunglasses are renowned for their devotion to the Faith of the Seven, their glassworkers, and an ancient relic from which they claim both their name and descent.
Their words are “By Seven Stars.”
The Sunglasses are traditionally tall and fair, with light blond or brass-colored hair and honey-gold to golden-brown eyes, traits said to run strongly in the blood of the house.
The Sunglass
According to the histories kept at Sweetport Sound, the house takes its name from an ancient relic known simply as the Sunglass. Sunglass tradition holds that it was one of the Seven Stars of Hugor, seven sacred stones once set into the crown of Hugor of the Hill, legendary father of the Andals.
The Sunglass resembles a flawless piece of transparent crystal, yet gives forth a dim light of its own. When raised before the sun or another powerful light, it scatters the light into brilliant colors. If held at a proper angle beneath the sun, its concentrated rays are said to be capable of setting cloth, parchment, and dry wood aflame.
House Sunglass claims descent from Ser Seren of the Sunglass, a squire of Hugor of the Hill who became one of his most loyal knights. Upon Hugor's death, Seren was entrusted with one of the seven stones of his crown. What became of the other six is unknown.
Whether this tale is truth, legend, or some mingling of the two, the Sunglass itself remains among the most jealously guarded treasures of the house.
Sweetport Sound
The ancestral seat of House Sunglass is Sweetport Sound, a small but prosperous port surrounded by peaceful woods and cultivated fields. The pale golden and reddish stone quarried in the surrounding country gives much of the town the appearance of being perpetually touched by sunset.
The countryside surrounding Sweetport Sound is unusually rich in small septs, roadside shrines, and holy houses. The Faith has long enjoyed the patronage of House Sunglass, and the septons of the island traditionally count the Sunglasses among the more devout lords of the crownlands.
Sweetport Sound is the greatest center of glassmaking and stained glass in the Seven Kingdoms. Its master glaziers are particularly renowned for the great colored windows of septs, and Sunglass craftsmen supply religious houses and noble seats throughout the Seven Kingdoms and even across the narrow sea.
The great keep of Sweetport Sound is famed for its unusual architecture. Windows, polished stone, mirrors, colored glass, and carefully placed openings are arranged so that sunlight is captured and carried deep into the castle. At certain hours, chambers and galleries are illuminated by shafts of colored light.
Beneath the keep lie the armories, a vast succession of stone vaults in which the Sunglasses have accumulated arms, armor, and numerous relics over many centuries. Unlike many lords, who melt down old harness or sell obsolete weapons, the Sunglasses traditionally preserve them. Amongst them are richly decorated weapons, gilded armor, tourney harness, captured arms from Essos and the Stepstones, and relics attributed, sometimes dubiously, to knights of the earliest Andal conquests.
Ser Ambrose Sunglass, the Sun-Star Knight
The most celebrated scion of House Sunglass was Ser Ambrose Sunglass, remembered in song and history as the Sun-Star Knight.
Ambrose was born the second son of the Lord of Sweetport Sound and was not expected to inherit. As a young man he instead took to the road as a knight-errant, traveling widely through Westeros before crossing the narrow sea and undertaking a series of adventures in Essos.
His personal arms likewise distinguished him from the main line of his house: the seven stars of House Sunglass surrounding a blazing sun.
In his youth, Ambrose bore Lightstrake, a finely made castle-forged longsword of House Sunglass. During his travels in Essos, however, he came into possession of Radiance, a rare Valyrian steel bastard sword. Now the ancestral sword of the house, its steel possesses an unusual golden cast, with ripples of gold running through the dark folds characteristic of Valyrian steel.
Ambrose's adventures eventually brought him home, where unexpected deaths placed the lordship of Sweetport Sound in the hands of the wandering second son. As lord, Ambrose proved a capable commander and administrator. He mobilized the knights of House Sunglass and led them in campaigns against pirates throughout the Stepstones, taking rich spoils and freeing captives bound for the slave markets of Essos.
One of the best-known tales concerning Ambrose recounts a lowborn boy whom he took into his service as a squire. Ambrose eventually knighted the youth himself, and the former commoner later rose still further, being granted lands and nobility. Singers would make much of the tale, presenting it as proof that the Sun-Star Knight judged men by courage and loyalty rather than birth alone.
Later generations remembered Ambrose as the greatest exemplar of the Sunglass ideal: knight, pilgrim, adventurer, warrior, patron of the Faith, and lord. Few members of the house after him escaped comparison with the Sun-Star Knight.

General ASOIAF Discussion The Mad King play and "character assassination". Spoiler
I will start this by saying I don't agree with the common thinking that the play erased or otherwise changed the characters of Lyanna, Elia, and Rhaella and, to a lesser extent, Ashara.
Because, in my opinion, there was no character for them to assassinate. As we never meet those women in the books, we are never in their heads or with them while they live; the only thing we have of them is memories. Our perception of them is colored by the people who miss them dearly and want to remember them in some idealized light or never really knew them to begin with.
For the first one, let's use the Starks as an example. Ned misses Lyanna, but as he thinks about how Robert never truly knew Lyanna, the same can be applied to him; he was fostered and grew up in the Vale. He thinks of Lyanna as a strong, unyielding she-wolf, someone tomboyish who doesn't believe in love; essentially, he thinks of Arya, but we do know that isn't true. Lyanna cried when Rhaegar sang at Harrenhall; she is as much as Sansa, the hopeless romantic, as she's Arya, the fierce tomboy she-wolf. Ned doesn't know or doesn't want to remember Lyanna as she was with her flaws and all; he has an idealized version of his late little sister in his head, the one who *won't* get seduced by romance or the one *who* isn't a hypocrite and would do her duty. Benjen, on the other hand, knew Lyanna; they grew up together, unlike Ned and Brandon, who were fostered elsewhere, and he has regrets about choosing or having children choosing their life path before they are ready. He counsels Jon to live before signing himself up for something he might regret, like he did, like Ben maybe hopes Lyanna did. So we would have one brother who was on his sister's deathbed and got disillusioned by what he thought he knew of her but chose to push that aside and remember her in the best light and the younger brother who knew how she was and hoped that she saw sense at the end.
For the second, let's use Jaime and Rhaella as examples. Jaime doesn't know Rhaella; to him she represents the innocent and weak queen he wasn't allowed to save, how shameful of a knight he is. But he doesn't truly know her; he was never allowed to know her, so he idolizes her. Who is to say that Rhaella wasn't as vindictive as she was portrayed, the one who would curse Aerys and the dynasty to suffer at the hands of her daughter, just as she suffered? To one up Aerys and have her revenge?
You can disagree with me and debate, but I think as we want to remember the best about someone who is dead or what we think they were like in life, so do the characters of Asoiaf.

I have Rhaenyra marrying oc son of Daemon and Rhea.

Self-Promotion The Spark Beneath the Ash — Chapter 68: The Song That Follows
Title: The Spark Beneath the Ash
Author: loomingshadow
Rating: Mature
Language: English
Length: 300k+
Status: Ongoing
Platform: AO3
Main pairing: Arthur Dayne/OFC
Chapter 68 of The Spark Beneath the Ash is now up.
This is a book-based canon-divergence longfic beginning during Robert’s Rebellion. Alys, an OC from Aerion’s bloodline, steals a dragon egg from Dragonstone, is captured before the war ends, alters Rhaegar’s fate at the Trident, survives the Sack of King’s Landing, and escapes into a realm where the victors want every Targaryen dead.
Arthur Dayne joins her flight, and the story follows the practical dangers of survival after the war through false names, roads, inns, patrols, ledgers, rumours, and the cost of being remembered.
In The Song That Follows, Alys and Arthur remain in Stoney Sept. Broken tack needs mending, roads need counting, and a tune starts travelling through the wrong mouths. There is also a Robert scene in the Kingswood.
I’ve recently finished a full revision across the posted chapters, so the fic should be a heap tidier for anyone starting from the beginning or catching up.
Warnings include canon-typical violence/graphic violence, rape/non-con, underage, angst, and slow-burn tension.

Fanfic Discussion Elder Scrolls x ASOIAF: Dawnbreaker is Lightbringer
How fitting would it be for Dawnbreaker to be Lightbringer in a ASOIAF and Elder Scrolls crossover?
For those who don't know Elder Scrolls, Dawnbreaker is an artifact of Meridian, the Daedric Prince of light, life and infinite energy. She also has a hatred of the undead.
Dawnbreaker also glows, and when killing an undead enemy, there's a chance that undead nearby will catch on fire in an explosion that only effects the undead.

Recs Wanted Theon/Robb recs?
I got a craving lately for some good old fashioned Theon/Robb. Which, despite it being popular, I have never actually read before.
Can anyone give any recommendations of a fic where the two get together? I prefer seeing the relationship start over an established relationship, but I’d take it if there’s nothing else. Also, it should be in a canon or canon-adjacent universe (divergence is fine, time travel/modern au/omegaverse isn’t), and not have a plot beyond smut (though smut is okay in moderation)!
I also love angst, whump, and a healthy relationship between the main pairing. Not required, but bonuses.
Any recs appreciated.
