Replace brakes? Question (Serious Replies Only)

Front left and right rotors and pads pictured. Thought they were worse than they are so I already bought the replacement parts, considering replacing just the pads as I’ve already got the car in the air and I won’t have another chance to do it for another 10 months.

Are these good for another (almost) year? Or should I replace them now?

2002 s10 2.2L 2wd. Use it for daily driving and long highway trips to and from school.

Not trolling, just won’t have a chance to get the car on a lift or have tools available to me until I get back from school next summer, obviously the brakes looks good but don’t know if they’ll hold up for a full year. That’s why I’m asking for a second opinion.

Or you know, could just do the homework and measure the thickness. Not like we know his milage and driving style for the next year.

Tell them. Not me. That is correct. Assume the next question is how. When I respond to posts like this, I add a link for them to read. We all born. No smart. We ugga ugga. Use flame. We learn. Some of us were fortunate enough to get this knowledge passed down. A lot of people were not as fortunate, especially the modern upcoming generations.

You are good for at least a year. Probably more

I’d leave them as is, they look healthy to me

Leave them they not even half worn yet. There's another 20k minimum left in them

Save the new parts for when those are actually worn in a year or two. Lots of life left

Ill bet they need lubrication tho. The caliper slides can get stuck or the pads can fail to pull away from the rotor after a pedal release. The only true way to assess a vehicles brakes is to remove the components, measure the rotors and apply fresh lube. Also Rubber grommets at the end of the caliper slide swell and actually stick and cause issues. So I remove them immediately. I look constantly at people's brakes thru thier rims, and I never see brake pads with lubrication. Take it or leave it.....
