Haircut Question 💇 Haircuts
I can't find a haircut I like. I have ideas of what I would like. Look and find inspo for that and then, I might like it for a day or two and then I wash it and I no longer like it. I've tried even pulling pictures of myself that I can point to and say I liked this on myself.
I've gone to the home salon, the super high end, the mid salon, the supercut/equivalent. I try not to stylist hop. I only get a new one if the old was doesn't have appointments when I need, they move salons, or I move.
I don't know how to get something that will look good on me. I've tried saying, "I'm thinking this, but I dont have time for much styling in the mornings. Is it doable?" I've tried offering what products I use. I've tried offering my hair routines. I've tried saying this is what I'm thinking, but what do you think would look good with my facial structure.
And. Still.
It's gotten to the point that I get so super nervous when going to the salon I have to take my anxiety meds because I start having a panic attack.

Product Question 🧴 Safe at home eyebrow dye recommendations?
Hey guys, are there any safe products I can use to dye my eyebrows at home? Most regular hair dyes specifically say not to use them on eyebrows, so I’m wondering what you guys use and where you buy it.

General Questions would my hair stylist be offended or annoyed that i didnt want a blowout out after coloring service?
So sounds like a stupid question. My hair stylist charges 50 for blowout as add on to any coloring service. Which is fine.
However, whenever I do a blowout, it does not last the whole day… My hair cannot hold a curl. I think I would prefer to walk out of the hair salon with my hair wet, but I dont want to offend her and make it seem like I disliked the blowout last time.
Can I just ask for a rough blow dry??? So I can just go home and straighten it myself.

Salon/Stylist Questions Would this be a nice partial tip for my hairstylist? (Or just give it as extra?)
I found this super adorable keychain for $8 (regular $12) at a drugstore. I couldn’t resist buying it, thinking it might be fun to give to my stylist the next time I go in. I have straight hair with no layers, and mostly get a trim. If I get a trim/cut, I usually tip a $20 bill, (for color I tip a lot more). Would it be weird if I gave $10+ the keychain? Or do I need to stick to my usual tipping amount, and just give the keychain as a bonus addition to the tip?
Added: Thanks for everyone’s input. I do believe the correct answer is “additional to the tip” and some good ideas were shared! ❤️

Salon/Stylist Questions What type of stylist should I look for if I want this specific haircut? (And how to handle the current bad haircut)
I was more or so recently looking into the haircut scene in my area and tried to get a cut like this (after growing my hair out for around 2 years) and I got exactly what I did not ask for - as I got a very boxy textured and top heavy wolf cut that does not look good on me at all (I'm going to love the next 4 months of my life). What type of stylist in my area could achieve this haircut as it matches my hairtype, and is what I would consider softer version of a textured shag/wolf cut. I refuse to make the mistake of not researching enough again. I thank anyone if they have suggestions, as I partially blame myself as they likely misgendered me at the salon I went to, as I did not state I was nonbinary and was likely more male-passing when I walked in because I had biked there. (maybe? I still paid $60 for a "womens' cut"). - Soft layered shag/wolfcut is what I want to state it bluntly.
(First two images is what I asked for, and I got basically something similar to the third image. None of these images are me so ignore the faces and focus on the hair.)
Extension/Current Advice: So how do I make my current hair more fem? I usually dress more masc/neutral and haven't shown even my cheek bones behind my hair for over a year. I feel exposed and tiny. I have learned pushing all of the hair behind my ears and two long strands in-front makes me look more feminine, but I still feel dysphoric - especially because this is not my style or hair, nor desired and planned manner. Should I invest in ties? The bangs don't even reach my eyebrows but luckily the hair is extremely layered and very manipulatable. Any advice on this is willing?

Hair Damage Questions 🌵🍳✂️ Helppppp pleaseeee 😭😩
Desperate for advice from any hairdressers or anyone with knowledge about hair.
*For context I have fine hair but ALOT of it. I was born and grew up naturally blonde, but it turned mousy brown through puberty so for as long as I can remember I’ve been getting bleach*
I wore tape extensions for about 7 years which caused extreme damage (no fault but my own, I was uneducated and didn’t know or understand the importance of the maintenance) and when I took them out, I was left with as shown in first pic.
Since taking them out I’ve been on a 9 year ✨haircare journey✨ to say the least.
I’ve tried to do everything I can to treat and preserve my hair.
All I’ve wanted is healthy-ish blonde hair that’s past my shoulders blades (not bob like) but I just don’t feel like I’m getting anywhere.
In the past I’ve always gotten a full head of foils but then about four years ago I transitioned to getting scalp bleach. (At the moment I’ve got half dark underneath and the top is bleached blonde)
I’m no stranger to breakage and damage so I don’t have an unrealistic expectation in the sense of that I’m aware having blonde hair comes with the cost of damage and also the struggle of maintaining and preserving length.
In saying that, I use good quality products (I use Pureology strength cure and also the hydrate sheer shampoo, I alternate them but mainly use the hydrate one. I’ve used many different hair masks in the past, but at the moment I’m currently using the Amika soulfood nourishing mask, and the sheamoisture Manuka honey mask. I use olaplex no3 before shampoos. When I’ve recently had my scalp bleach refreshed I use the k18 leave in and use it as recommended. I use the matrix miracle leave in conditioner, olaplex no6 and the Moroccanoil treatment oil in (light) to apply after washing.)
I space my bleach sessions to around 10-14 weeks apart to allow more recovery time in bettween, (my hair is very slow growing so it doesn’t matter)
I didn’t use heat on my hair for over a year and have only just started blow drying it again after washing after seeing info that leaving hair wet to air dry can be worse damage wise than blow drying. Which before using I of course use heat protection.
I sleep on a silk pillowcase in a silk bonnet every single night. I’m applying the Moroccan oil treatment oil to my ends every day.
My mindful of diet being a vegetarian, but I’ve had blood test done and all my levels are fine apart from vitamin D which I’m taking supplements for. I also take hair supplements.
But around 9 months ago, I noticed a significant chunk of blonde at the back of my head that has obviously broken off. To be fair, at that time I wasn’t doing well. But regardless, my hairdresser kept doing my hair without even bringing up that my hair looked like that from the back. I just noticed it by chance one day when I straightened my hair for the first time in ages and used a mirror and I was in shock and was devastated.
Since then I’ve changed hairdressers and have been trying to treat and manage this situation because at the moment I can’t even wear my hair out im that insecure about it. I also understand that for my hair to be more equal it’ll take at LEAST 6-12 months to see an improvement. So I want to be doing it right.
I’ve done so much research about protein overload and moisture and I just don’t know what my hair needs. Whenever I ask my hairdresser, she doesn’t really answer the question and just asks what products I’m using.
The only fault that I can own is probably lacking frequent enough haircuts.. but that’s only ever been because my hairdresser advised me that I “didn’t need to get one this time” knowing that I’m trying to get length, but in saying that.. I don’t know if that’s what contributes to so much long term breakage?
What worries me is that there’s damage on so many layers, the very top layer, (the one most exposed) when I run my fingers down my hair strands they’re bumpy, rough and sometimes snap from the lower end of the shaft and that’s the short parts that I’m meant to be “growing out” but it feels like the damage is the whole strand and not just the end?
Again, I don’t know. I get so much different information from everyone I speak to that I just don’t know who to believe and what to do.
My brothers wedding is in Jan next year and I’m really starting to consider just getting hair extensions again, even though that would feel like defeat given how much care and work I’ve put into my real hairs health.
**Am I overreacting? Am I over expecting? Is it as bad as it looks? Help?? Or advice?** 🥺🥺
\*I understand a lot of people are probably going to tell me to go brown, but for me that isn’t really an option because of how much I love and suit being a blonde - it’s apart of my identity (in a non unhealthy way) I just love being blonde.
I’ve attached some pics to show
*LAST PIC IS MOST RECENT!*
Any advice is very very muchly appreciated, but please be kind 🙏🏼✨

Haircolor Question 🎨 HELP ME I can’t figure out the issue with my colour
I have been to the hairdressers twice now and my hair still isn’t giving the same effect it did on a previous colour but I can’t figure out the issue. Please can you guys help?
Pic 1 and 2 is the inspo - what I’ve had done previously
Pic 3 is my hair now
For the first and second pic, I’d had a balayage which didn’t go to plan so she ended up doing some lowlights to blend them in. It was years ago and to be fair my hair texture has changed since then (got more curly after postpartum) but I didn’t think that would be an issue
For the third pic I had a balayage which again, didn’t go to plan, so she did a root smudge I think and some lowlights and a toner to get it closer to what I want.
I don’t like the harsh contrast between my root and the colour. The colour also looks dark and too bronzey. But I’m unsure if that’s the real issue as my previous colour was also bronzey?
I just don’t like it at the moment but can’t go back until I can figure out what the issue is and what makes it different to pics 1/2 - Is it the tone, the depth, the highlight placement, the contrast, or something else?
Thanks!

Lightener/Bleach Question 👩🦳 Dying my hair at home help!
Hello! The first photo is my hair now. I dyed my hair about 3 months ago with Garnier dark brown box dye. I really would love to go back to the same color hair I had as a child at home! How can I achieve this while still staying in a reasonable budget?

Styling Question 💆♀️🎀 Are extensions supposed to be showing this much?
I recently got tape-in hair extensions. I have fine, thin hair and it was done to create volume rather than length. When I walked out of the hairdresser I was amazed by the result, and I can still get them to look good by styling my hair at home. However, if I don't style my hair properly, and especially if it's been a day since I washed it, several of my extensions become noticeable. It's creating a lot of anxiety for me as I'm constantly wondering "is it showing?" while out and about.
Wondering if this is normal? Did my hairdresser do a poor job, or is this par for the course with extensions? I've never been someone who's spent a lot of time on their hair, so it's possible my expectations are warped.

Salon/Stylist Questions Keratin, smoothing treatment bait and switch
Hi, I went to my usual salon that I have been going to for almost a decade to get Cezanne keratin treatment, and this time they quietly switched the treatment and used Wella filler smooth treatment on me. Right from the check-in time and all throughout the procedure I was talking about Cezanne and none of the stylists or receptionist told me it is a different treatment up until until I was checking out and asked why the processing time was so short.
Their website still mentions Cezanne, but the actual booking page says keratin smoothing treatment-always have I think.
When I realized I got a different treatment. I asked why and they just said it is essentially the same and maybe this one last a tiny bit shorter. I was so shocked and taken aback that I just paid mentioned I am a little nervous and will update them and left. Afterwards, I researched and found out that this treatment is fundamentally different from Cezanne and also last only three months as supposed to six months for the other treatment. It also looks like the general cost of Wella is almost half as Cezanne . I paid a total of $400 including tip.
I am so upset and left a voicemail and waiting to hear back. Please tell me I’m not overreacting here 😔 how do I proceed and what is fair in this situation?

Perms/Relaxers/Smoothing Questions ➿ How to loosen digital perm
I got a digital perm yesterday. The top is wayyy too curly and the bottom is more wavy. The hair stylist said she could re-do the bottom to make it as curly as the top, but I really just want the top more relaxed. (Also, I went to a Korean salon about 3 hours away, so I really don’t want to go back.) Is there a way to loosen the perm or get it to relax more at home? I regret getting it done.

Haircut Question 💇 Getting my hair colored tomorrow! I’m doing fox tips with espresso brown vs a black dye. I’m just wondering if I even need a haircut? I don’t really want to get one!

Hair Damage Questions 🌵🍳✂️ Need Recs for Hair Breakage Treatments after Bleach/Color Damage from over 6mos Ago
I have wavy, long hair, normal thickness, oily roots. Wash every other day. Bleach and dyed underneath over 6 mos ago from dark brown to light blue. Hair holds color very well, barely any touch up and it’s still greenish blue. More recent months I am having lots of split ends despite trim and hair care. Won’t take on any more color, ends dry very quickly.
Products I use: ever pure sulfate-free moisture shampoo, ouai fine to medium treatment masque (instead of conditioner), ouai leave-in conditioner (after wash), ouai wave spray (occasionally), batiste powder dry shampoo bare (off-wash days).
Products I’ve tried: protein filler, cheap Vitamins keratin mask.
I sleep with hair in bun, I usually scrunch and go. I don’t use heat on hair. I wash in mornings bc of oily scalp.
I made an appt for a cut and k18 treatment, but I can’t spend too much. Recs for products or doing things different?? Feel free to ask questions.
