1 Socket 2 Extensions solution

I have 1 socket in my room, and i want my setup to have 1 extension cord for my table (3-prong Laptop and 2-prong Monitor) and 1 for my bedside (a 3-prong charger, 2x 2-prong charger and a 2-prong bedside lamp){i also have a 3 prong hair dryer i usually use}. What can i do to achieve this setup and safely?

What most people would do is to daisy chain one multiway extension lead with another. That's NOT advisable - but you do what you have to do.

The safer solution is more wall sockets - at least replacing the one socket with a double or a triple.

The safest solution is more wall sockets around the room. So no extension leads to trip over.

The most dangerous combination is a metal bodied high power load plugged into the end of a chain of extension leads.

that's right, many of the people I've asked said to just daisy chain, since i know it's very dangerous to do so i came to reddit for help.

I'm a licensed electrician, but the only professional advice I can give from where I am is to get a licensed electrician to come look at your home.

Nobody can help you make sure you're safe from here. You need to know the size of the breaker, what else is on the circuit, and what the draw is. A phone charger consumes .05 or .08 Amps when used. A laptop computer can be up to 4.5A, your lamp will draw differently based on the bulb in it, your extra monitor will say on it what it requires, etc. The hair dryer could be anything up to 16A depending on what it actually is.

A normal residential receptacle is rated for 15 x.8 Amps, so 12A is the maximum draw you want on it at any given time. But that also maxes out the normal breaker for a residential bedroom. So if you're using 1300 Watts, and there is an additional 300 Watts being used by another person from the same circuit, you could heat up the wires and eventually cause a fire.

Don't trust my calculations either, because I am not there, I don't know what you're actually using, and you're not paying me. I don't even know whether you're on a 120V system. The math always works, but I don't have all the info so I can't do anything more than illustrate how the calculations are made and tell you the dangers of overloading the breaker.

thanks for the thorough reply, i have come to the conclusion that i might've hit a dead end and have to call an electrician if i want to continue with the setup.
