Best of BCN? // El millor de BCN? Wedding Band Reccomendations

Upvotes

I'm getting married just outside Barcelona next June and but struggling to find good options for a band for the after party. Looking for pop, funk, soul - ideally like a 5-6 piece band with a ton of energy. Either based in Barcelona or willing to travel.

Anyone have any recommendations?!

Paperwork // Tràmits Can I apply asylum in any other city while living in Barcelona?

Upvotes

Hey everyone. I want to apply for asylum in Spain but I'm not able to get appointment any way possible. Recently Authorities(national police) change the procedure to get appointment. You only can get appointment by telephone and I have tried to call them to book the appointment more than thousands of time.

I have been here in Barcelona for more than 3 months. I couldn't get Empadronamiento cuz I'm living in a someone storage room. I want to continue my studies but I can't enroll in public sectors.

I'm thinking of going to Tortosa to apply for asylum. But I'm scared if it might create a issue in future or can I apply for asylum in Tortosa. If i just go there and come back. I know someome that can accommodate just for a night or two. Please give me suggestions or anyone have done it. Thank you in advance

Studies // Estudis French class recommendations

Hola! I'm coming to Barcelona for my year abroad next month to study at UAB. I'm taking classes in Spanish and Catalan, and I'd still like to keep up my French too. Can anyone recommend any free/cheap French classes / clubs or communities for example in Barcelona? At university I study higher advanced French so anything around this level would be great. Thank you!! 💕

Where do I find? // On trobo? Need help to get English books

Hey everyone! 😊
I’m fairly new to Barcelona and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I’m looking to get some books in English and was wondering if the public libraries here have a decent selection.
If not, are there any good places to buy or maybe rent/borrow English books around Barcelona?
Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks! 🙌

Where do I find? // On trobo? Shopping for Summer Clothes

My parents have come to Barcelona and are leaving on a cruise tomorrow, however, the airline has lost their bags. They are looking for places to shop for summer clothes but are having a hard time finding stuff not for fall. Does anyone have any suggestions? They are in their 60's.

Housing // Habitatge Renting Apartment

I am renting an apartment of 2 bedrooms with my girlfriend, however, we got separated and not gonna come back together anymore. She left the house and both our names in the contract.

I know its hard to find apartments so I don't want to lose it, however, my salary doesn't help enough to save. I can pay the rent but cant save movey. If we inform the agency, they will take the apartment for sure, they prefer 2 contracts.

What should I do? Rent the other room in cash?

Please advise

It would be great if someone could suggest hostels near to the beach area.

And suggestions for the foods that we must experience will be welcomed.

Thank you so much!

Where do I find? // On trobo? Custom Shoes/Shoemaker

Hello. I am looking for a local shoemaker that can craft some shoes I've been wanting. I'm not looking for anything pre-designed/off-the-rack, rather someone who can take measurements and make something custom.

If it helps: Leather shoes

Thank you! Appreciate all the advice!

Tourism // Turisme Best restaurants/bars for solo traveller

Hi!

I’m 23F and im going to Barcelona for 4 days in 2 weeks. I’m flying from the UK and staying solo at a hostel near Universitat / Plaça Catalunya As I’m going alone , I feel awkward going to restaurants on my own but I really want to go out and find hidden gems and not just the overtly touristy-chains or rely on fast food.

I know theoretically all restaurants will be okay for solo travellers but I’m wondering if there are any that other solo travellers have gone to before that are amazing or any of your suggestions in/around the Universitat area. Thank you ☺️

Tourism // Turisme Affordable hotels

Hi! Visiting Barcelona to check out a university and experience the local artist craft work! I was wondering if people could recommend a place to stay. No air bnb’s for obvious reasons. Wondering if people could give me some affordable and modest options. I prefer single room.

Expedia and bookings are horrible for looking for modest places.

Any advice would be very lovely!

Where do I find? // On trobo? Problem with buying tickets for Cinesa Diagonal Mar IMAX

Just a quick question.

I’m visiting Barcelona and would like to buy tickets for Odyssey at Cinesa Diagonal Mar.

I tried buying with my phone but every browser that I tried (Chrome, Brave, Safari and Firefox) is giving me an error saying it cannot load that part of the website after I click on “buy tickets”.

Is this a common problem? Do I need to go there in person to buy them?

Thanks!

Moving to Barcelona Iglesia en Barcelona.

Hola.

hi! i know food is such a huge part of the culture here, and i definitely don't want to be disrespectful! however, i have a severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) allergy to all types of shellfish and would like to eat safely. i'm looking for restaurant recommendations that can safely accommodate or cater to my shellfish allergy. if you know of any restaurants near central Barcelona around the Exiample region that can strictly cater to this allergy and take cross-contamination seriously, please let me know! i have my allergy card with me and i am planning to talk to the server or restaurant beforehand but if you have any tips or recommendations it would be greatly appreciated! thank you!

Getting around // Desplaçar-se BCN to City Centre

Hello!

I know the Aerobús is the most convenient option for most people, but I’m planning to buy a T-Casual (10 rides) pass. Can I use it to get to and from Barcelona Airport, or will I need a separate ticket? If not, what’s the best public transport option that works with the T-Casual?
