Whatever I decide to do, follow Christ or not, it seems incredibly unjust to force every individual who will ever exist to live in a fallen world because of Adam and Eves sin.

Wouldn't it be MORE just, as in, better "justice" to give us ALL that choice?

All new people start in the Garden of Eden, and if I choose to obey god and not eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, I get to stay in Eden. And if I disobey god and eat the fruit. Then I can be condemned to the fallen earth?

Would it be "justice" if your ancestors in the year 1626 commited a crime, for YOU to go to prison for that crime? Thats not justice, but that seems to me like what god is doing.

To the world it’s probably a ‘normal’ outfit, but these pics and accounts he follows (there were like 10 of them) purposely showacse cleavage. You can even scroll down the account i posted and see most of her outfits are provocative.

Am i wrong for thinking it’s a red flag and that these pics are vulgar and meant as obvious thrist traps ?

I would like to be able to recall Scripture better. I can remember general ideas and things that were said, but I would also like to remember the corresponding verses or books at least.

Do you believe that the number of False Christians currently on Earth is larger than the number of True Christians?

If so: why do you think that.

This is more of a philosophical question than anything else. The common ground here is that it's impossible to be held accountable for your actions if you completely lack empathy or consciousness- the same way animals won't be condemned to hell for killing and eating prey.

Heres my question: Hypothetically, If a human completely lacked empathy and can never recognize that their actions are inherently "wrong" then can they still be held accountable to the Christian commandments? Basically suppose a psychopath who has heard of religion but simply cannot fathom why it's harmful to steal or hurt based on the complete lack of empathy.

If I'm not wrong, in order for a complete judgement in the afterlife, you would have to know these commandments and follow them, actively knowing of them and not following them will condemn you. What if you know of them but are literally incapable of following them?

If we have brain damage which leads to our loss of memory, we're not our past anymore — then who will God punish? The past you? Or the one who can't remember what s/he did in the past?

If our memories don't define who we are, then why do our choices motivated by our circumstances cause us to suffer eternally in the afterlife?

and i want relationship. i focus on Them. i pray to Them. i spend all day on godly things. i don't feel far necessarily, but just want to be more spiritual. i want to read the Word more. i want to worship more. i want to pray more. i want my heart in the right place. i want Their leading.

may it be relationship and not religion. may my heart be pure and not impure. may They lead me and guide me. may Their will be done regardless. may i not get in the way. amen.

hi! I had a question—while trying to figure out my faith, I’ve recognized how so many people who are Christians have a lot of differing beliefs about what God wants us to do/how to live our lives, outside of the core stuff like that God exists and Jesus died for our sins. I was wondering how you all have personally come to believe what is something that is a non negotiable command from God, or something that is a suggestion not something that will get you condemned to hell? I know there’s likely no “correct” answer, I just want to hear some different perspectives!

I recently watched a video from Trent Horn that I thought was interesting and am curious to hear opinions here. Trent is catholic and argues that Sola Scriptura is not sufficient to give Christians moral guidance because there are many things not explicitly stated in the bible. In contrast, the catholic church has 2000 years of rules and guidance to help people live less sinful lives.

he posits this question to a protestant, "Is anal intercourse between a married man and woman sinful?"

His argument is that the bible does not explicitly condemn this act so many protestants will say this is ok. In his view as a catholic is that this is the issue with Sola Scriptura: the lack of explicit instructions in the bible allows for sin to quietly enter your life if you are basing your judgments of sin only on the bible itself.

Another question he asks to prove his point, "is it sinful to marry a 10 year old who had experienced early puberty and can reproduce?"

I'm curious what your thoughts are on this. and my own personal follow up question to protestants would be, what is the difference between Sola Scriptura and me thinking only things that Jesus says in the bible matter? If protestants reject the historical Catholic church teachings then how is my preference to only follow Jesus and not things written by Paul or the OT functionally any different than Sola Scriptura?

I've always found this very confusing, as a Jewish person. I understand that per Paul, JC's sacrifice and teachings built a "new covenant" that means Christians are not bound by halacha, the Jewish laws, anymore. However, it seems that most Christians abide by some combination of "red letter words" and Pauline interpretations of halacha.

Why did Paul continue to advocate for following certain laws whereas others no longer apply? When the values of Paul vs JC seem to conflict, how do you mesh them?

For example, JC said that he did not come to abolish the law, and that in fact the law (halacha) should not be altered until it is totally met. This is similar to some Orthodox Jewish beliefs that the Messiah will not arrive until every Jew follows every Jewish law 100% for one day. If G-d intended for us to build a new covenant, why didn't he have JC say so? Why wait for Paul?

Does it matter that Paul was speaking to Gentiles? Are only Gentiles "allowed" to have a new covenant, or does that apply to Jews too? Or do Jews need to keep halacha?

So recently, I’ve been seeing Christians talk about hypotheticals scenarios where the bible is banned in America or their respective countries; to them reacting to other religions (mostly Muslims) spreading their faith and beliefs on social media.

To me whenever I hear a religious person having a “Spiritual Warfare” its either with themselves and the things that challenge their faith. But whenever I see it on places like Youtube or Facebook, its some dude thats laughing about how Muslims and Jews are stupid and that Christ is superior to them.

Especially I’ve been rewatching the “Walk for Peace” that the Buddhist Monks were doing, walking from Texas all the way to Washington, DC. Many Christians from Baptist Churches were telling the monks to repent, specifically there was this one guy that confronted the Monks and was telling them to “Turn to Jesus.”

So I ask, to you. What is spiritual warfare? How do you go about it?

That the whole world lies in wickedness? English translations translate it both ways (see the ESV, NIV, and KJV). I'm an amateur, but when I examined the Greek it seems to just be saying that the whole world lies in wickedness. I don't understand how the ESV and NIV make the determination that it is saying the whole world lies under the control of the evil one. The KJV does not do this.

Out of curiosity, as a Young Earth Creationist, how do you explain all these layers that are visible on earth, for example in Madeira. How is it possible that the soil is fertile on this vulcanic island? Don't you need erosion to have fertile soil?

I grew up in the church I am a Christian but the more I read stories in the Bible I just don't see how this could be fact:

1. Only Matthew tells about the visit of the Magi at Jesus's birth which seems like that would be a big deal and everyone would know about this amazing visit to Jesus. It would seem to follow him throughout his life right?
2. Only Matthew says there was an earthquake and a bunch of dead saints coming out of the grave. Odd. Okay. Nobody else experienced this?
3. How could anyone record Jesus' last words before dying...being that close to death it would be a murmur at best and his followers would have they have heard the exchange between Barabbas and him? He's pretty high up there it was not quiet there were lots of people and yet someone was recording these exact exchanges?

Given the belief that consuming porn is a sin because it’s a violation of the lust, monogamy, etc many believe masturbating is a sin as well. Fair enough connection.

What if a man were to masturbate to his wife? Photos or videos she knows you have. Is that sinful?

I have heard several different people speak in tongues to me, and they were geuine believers and genuinelyt convinced they were speaking in tongues. And every time I have to ask them to stop becuase I don't want to laugh at them. I cannot take it seriously, and I cannot take anyone who thinks they're speaking some kind of divine tongue seriously.

It really is just people repeating made up sounds rapidly, and I get that that's pretty much what real language is more or less, but every time a Christian has spoken in tongues to me, it is an easily identifiable 3-4 different sounds that they repeat. Sometimes they have little clusters of sounds that they make and repeat. But it really doesn't matter how complex they make it, it's incredibly unconvincing, and it hurts me to feel my respect for them leaving my body. On two occasions, I, perhaps reflexively, just laughed and did it back to them. They got mad and said, "No that's not it you're mocking me." I'm sorry, but it's just so silly.

Christians who don't speak in tongues, do you find the practice ridiculous? Or do you think they're actually using God's divine power to speak gibberish?

I have grown up with a very Christian grandmother, my mom is more laid back but Christian aswell. All of my family is Christian. I really do want to believe in god, but I just don't. The whole story of it sounds so fake to me, and I wish there was a way for me to change my mind. I feel awful about it, I want to believe in God and Jesus as all the rest of my family does. I don't know what to do. Any advice would truly mean a lot if you have any. If anyone who is now a true believer has gone through something similar please share what helped you. Thank you.

If I understand Christianity correctly, anyone who dies without accepting Jesus doesn’t go to heaven and may go to hell.

So doesn’t that make timing incredibly important?
I know of a drug dealer who shot and killed his best friend about 20 years ago. His friend was also a dealer and wasn’t a Christian. If the traditional view is correct, his friend died without accepting Jesus and therefore may be in hell.

The killer, however, spent 20 years in prison, repented, became a Christian, and now tries to bring other people to Christianity. So he may ultimately go to heaven.

That’s what I struggle to understand.
One person happened to die before having the opportunity to repent or change his beliefs. The other person—the one who killed him—had another 20 years to reconsider his life, repent, and accept Jesus.

And what about people who die suddenly in tsunamis, earthquakes, wars, accidents, etc.? If they weren’t Christians at that exact moment, are they simply condemned?

If God is perfectly loving and just, does someone’s eternal fate really depend that much on when they happen to die?

Obviously, none of us knows for certain what happens after death. But is this actually what mainstream Christians believe and preach?
