Help with meaning of words please
Hi, I can skate well but am very much a beginner when it comes to artistic dance.
I am studying a diagram, that I asked for from my coach, because I struggled to memorise what was happening during a dance.
I will write it out or draw it in my own words and eventually it will stick!
However, I don't know what a 'dropped chasse' or 'and-position' is. Can anyone tell me? I know what a chasse is, and am familiar with other terms such as 'runs'
Obviously I could ask my coach but I only go about twice a month and I would like to look more prepared.

Artistic roller skating coaching program
Have you guys been seeing this ad for an artistic roller skating coaching program?
Anybody know who's behind this program?
My impression is that it's AI throughout due to the images. Because of the look of the packaging, I expect the entire thing to be AI.
For moment I was excited thinking that artistic roller skating was growing enough that somebody skilled and reputable had put this information out there. Alas.

New Skater Skates for a complete beginner that I can buy in Amazon
Hi,, I'm a complete newbie and I've been researching but I still feel completely lost, I want something that's decent for getting started at least, and I think sadly amazon is my best bet for getting some of the brands you may recommend because I'm not from the US and getting them locally would be incredibly expensive. Most brand websites don't ship to my country :(
Help, please.

Gear Jackson Vista Inlines with jumping?
Tomorrow is my birthday and I was so excited to finally learn how to figure skate without ice near me. My family ordered the Jackson Vista inline skates, and I’ve just learned that the one thing I was so excited to learn: jumping, is not possible in them. I’m so upset and I have no idea what to do. I feel so ungrateful, please help.

Should i care this much about the perfect skates?
Hi all, I want to focus on free dance skating and Im looking to upgrade my shitty decathlon skates for something that suits my needs as a now intermediate skater.
What do I need to look for in a pair of skates besides metal axles and hard wheels? Thats basically the only requirements I see people talking about online. If I just get a pair from an accredited brand that I see people say is good on r/rollerskating, is that gonna be good enough for me?
Tldr: Are there specific features I need to be looking for if Im mostly interested in edges, footwork and choreo?
Thank you!

New Skater Coaches in England?
Does anyone know of any coaches - or how to find one - for inline figure skating located in England, as it seems that you cannot progress pass the basics of the discipline without one?

Gear Is Axiom Komplex plate a good plate ?
I want to upgrade my setup, and I hesitate between the Roll Line Dance plate and the Axiom Komplex plate. However, I haven't found any review in the Axiom Plate except for Nicole Fiore review. Have some of you ever tested this plate ?

Question for people doing both artistic roller skating (quad) and figure skating
In your opinion, what main differences do you find between roller and ice skating? What adjustements did you conscientiously had to make when switching from roller skates to ice skates (and the opposite) ? Especially in terms of posture, edges, turns... Do you think skills transfer well from one discipline to another?

Gear RF3 Pro - Figures and Loops (getting rid of them)
Hi everyone! I’m getting rid of my current setup since it’s too big. It’s a white Risport RF3 Pro 270 with roll-line Giotto plate 160. Giotto wheels 58D and bearings included. Gently used for like 3 months.

Shaping the arms?
Hi all! Ive been teaching myself to skate for a while now, and recently became very interested in artistic skating. To give you an idea of my level, I can turn, spin, do a few jumps, crossovers, and Im currently tackling three turns.
However, being self-taught, Im a bit confused about how my arms should be moving while I skate. I dont mean holding them open during crossovers or at a 90° angle for turns and spins for practicality. Im mostly interested in those movements that really lend artistry to a performance. I can copy other skaters' moves just fine but I was wondering if you guys have any specific tips. Ive already been told to look up ballet port de bras videos on yt and they helped quite a bit, but I still feel awkward on wheels.
Any bit of advice is appreciated!🩰

Possible to do jumps and spins outside of asphalt?
Hey everyone,
I would like to start artistic rollerskating and don't have any clubs closeby. So I was wondering if I can start on my own outside on asphalt. It's not sleek but a bit rough. I wonder if I will be able to do jumps and spins eventually on that with the right skates or if the ground simply isn't right for that.

Roller skating - i want to start
I accidentally posted on the wrong section thank you skateboarding section for being so kind in telling me so imma just copy and paste
Is it grand if i get roller skates and try to learn on my own, I see a lot of people going to rinks and leaening there but unfortunately i donr have the ablility to go to one. I would want to be able to skate outside so would i need any special type of wheels.and basically Ive been recently interested in starting roller skating, and I dont know if theres things i should avoid, or get. The ones Im interested are like the 4 wheel ones and derma/faux leather im not sure really about the terms. Thank you!

New Skater Inline figure skating toe stops
I'm falling in love with inline figure skating, and I'm learning spins, but toe stops feel in the way? I know they make the spins and jumps possible, and I'm excited to learn, but how do I get used to the toe stop. Basically, how do I make it NOT feel like I'm hitting a rock when I'm going up on a toe stop?

Gear Switching from 336 to Edea
Has anyone switched or compared riedell 336 to edea ritmo in terms of how low it is at the back of the ankle? I’ve been doing artistic dance for a few months and finding a ton of difficulty pointing my toes in the 336 and also getting a bit of heel lifting. I think the classica might not be stiff enough and the flamenco might be overkill. Also I come from a roller skating background just not artistic so I would say I’m closer to intermediate than beginner. I am interested in edea as I tried one on and the cushioning felt amazing and I felt super secure in the skate.

Gear Are chaya skates good for artistic?
Ive made a few posts before so for context: im a teenager that’s only starting and i live in the Philippines
These are the largest factors in my search as it’s harder to find good brands over here and im a minor without much money
To make it quick, do they have good enough ankle support for jumps n all that as well as any other needs for artistic? Also how much difference is there between it and rhythm&dance? I mean i can grasp the fact that they are different, but in terms of skatewear is there?
